Forasmuch as many have undertaken to compose a narrative of the facts which have been fully confirmed among us, Even as they who were eye-witnesses and ministers of the word from the beginning, delivered them to us: It seemed good to me also, having accurately traced all things from their first rise, to write unto thee in order, most noble Theophilus,read more.

For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eye-witnesses of his majesty.
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have beheld, and our hands have handled of the word of life: For the life was manifested, and we have seen, and testify and declare to you the eternal life which was with the Father, and was manifested to us: That which we have seen and heard declare we to you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ:read more.

Then opened he their understanding, to understand the scriptures, And said to them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.read more.

But many of them who had heard the word, believed. And the number of the men was about five thousand. And on the morrow were gathered together at Jerusalem their rulers, and elders, and scribes, And Annas the high-priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high-priest. And having set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this? Then Peter filled with the Holy Ghost, said to them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, If we are examined this day, of the benefit done to the impotent man, by what means he is healed, Be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God hath raised from the dead, by him doth this man stand before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought by you builders, which is become the head of the corner. And there is salvation in no other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. And seeing the boldness of Peter and John, and understanding that they were illiterate and uneducated men, they marvelled, and took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. And beholding the man who had been healed, standing with them, they had nothing to say against it. But having ordered them to go out of the council, they conferred among themselves, saying, What shall we do to these men? For that indeed a signal miracle hath been wrought by them, is manifest to all that dwell at Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it. Yet that it spread no farther among the people, let us severely threaten them, that they speak no more to any man in this name. And having called them, they charged them, Not to speak at all, nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answering, said to them, Whether it be righteous in the sight of God, to obey you rather than God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things, which we have seen and heard.
And we are witnesses of these things, and also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
But God raised him from the dead. And he was seen many days by them who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation, which began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by them that had heard him? God also bearing them witness by signs, and wonders, and various miracles, and distributions of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will.
The elders that are among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and likewise a partaker of the glory which shall be revealed,
And we have seen and testify, that the Father sent his Son to be the Saviour of the world.
And they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ daily, in the temple, and from house to house.
But how shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him, of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? But how shall they preach, unless they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them who bring the good tidings of peace, who bring the glad tidings of good things!
Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also ye received, and wherein ye stand: By which also ye are saved, if ye retain what I preached to you, unless ye have believed in vain.
Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints is this grace given, to preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ. And to let all men see, what is the fellowship of the mystery, which was hidden from the beginning of the world by God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
But when they believed Philip, preaching the things of the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
For since, in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
Only they had heard, He that persecuted in time past, now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.
be instant in season, out of season; convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long-suffering and teaching.
Remember them that had the rule over you, who spake to you the word of God, whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said to you.
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.
I have yet many things to say to you; but ye cannot bear them now. But when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak of himself: but whatsoever he shall hear, he will speak; and he will shew you things to come. He will glorify me; for he will take of mine, and shew it you.read more.
All things that the Father hath, are mine: therefore I said, He will take of mine, and shew it you.
This is he that came by water and blood; even Jesus Christ; not by the water only, but by the water and the blood: and it is the Spirit who testifieth; because the Spirit is truth.
