51 Bible Verses about Witnesses, To Jesus Christ

But having obtained help from God, I continue till this day, testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what both the prophets and Moses have declared should be, That the Christ having suffered, and being the first who rose from the dead, should shew light to the people and to the Gentiles.

And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them the things in all the scriptures, concerning himself.

Search the scriptures: in them ye think ye have eternal life: and it is they that testify of me. Yet ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.

Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which easily besetteth us, and run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right-hand of the throne of God.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a testimony, to testify of the light, that all thro' it might believe. He was not the light, but was sent to testify of the light.

In those days cometh John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea. And saying, Repent ye; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying, The voice of one crying aloud in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance; but he that cometh after me is mightier than I; whose shoes I am not worthy to bear; he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather the wheat into the garner, but will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

And proclaimed, saying, There cometh after me one mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. I indeed have baptized you with water; but he will baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

And as the people were in expectation, and all mused in their hearts of John, whether he were not the Christ, John answered saying to them all, I indeed baptize you with water, but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.read more.
And many other things in his exhortation preached he to the people.

John testified of him and cried, saying, This is he of whom I said, He that cometh after me is preferred before me, for he was before me.

And they came to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou gavest testimony, behold he baptizeth, and all men come to him. John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, unless it be given him from heaven. Ye yourselves bear me witness that I said, I am not the Christ, but I am sent before him.read more.
He that hath the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly, because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease. He that cometh from above is above all:

Ye sent to John, and he bare testimony to the truth. But I receive not testimony from man; but these things I say, that ye may be saved. He was a burning and a shining light, and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.

And we are witnesses of these things, and also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

The same Spirit beareth witness with our spirits, that we are the children of God.

This is he that came by water and blood; even Jesus Christ; not by the water only, but by the water and the blood: and it is the Spirit who testifieth; because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that testify on earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood, and these three agree in one. And there are three that testify in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one.read more.
If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; and this is the testimony of God, which he hath testified of his Son.

I am one that testify of myself, and the Father that sent me, testifieth of me.

And lo a voice out of the heavens, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I delight.

And a voice came from heaven, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I delight.

and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily form, like a dove, upon him, and a voice came from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I delight.

While he yet spake, behold a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold a voice out of the cloud which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I delight: hear ye him.

And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son; hear ye him.

And the Father who hath sent me, he hath testified of me: ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form. And ye have not his word abiding in you; for whom he hath sent, ye believe not.

But I have a greater testimony than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to fulfil, the very works which I do, testify of me, that the Father hath sent me.

Jesus answered and said to them, Tho' I testify of myself, yet my testimony is valid: for I know whence I came, and whither I go: but ye know not whence I came, or whither I go.

Ye call me Master and Lord; and ye say well; for so I am.

Believe me, because I am in the Father, and the Father in me; but if not, believe me for the sake of the works.

If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. Jesus answered them, I have told you; yet ye do not believe: the works that I do in my Father's name, they testify of me.

but now have they seen them, and yet hated both me and my Father.

But ye shall receive power, the Holy Ghost being come upon you, and shall be witnesses to me, both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth.

But beware of men; for they will deliver you to the councils, and scourge you in their synagogues. And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the heathens. But when they deliver you, take no thought, how or what ye shall speak; for it shall be given you in that very hour what ye shall speak.read more.
For it is not ye that speak, but the spirit of the Father who speaketh in you.

But before all these things they shall lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my names sake. And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

And having called them, they charged them, Not to speak at all, nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answering, said to them, Whether it be righteous in the sight of God, to obey you rather than God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things, which we have seen and heard.read more.
And having threatened them again, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people; for they all glorified God for that which was done.

Forasmuch as many have undertaken to compose a narrative of the facts which have been fully confirmed among us, Even as they who were eye-witnesses and ministers of the word from the beginning, delivered them to us:

And ye are witnesses of these things. And behold I send the promise of my Father upon you:

Ye also testify, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

Wherefore of these men who have been with us all the time that the Lord Jesus was going in and out over us, Beginning from the baptism of John, till the day that he was taken up from us, one must be ordained, to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

This Jesus God hath raised up, whereof all we are witnesses.

And the apostles gave forth their testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus with great power, and great grace was upon them all.

And he was seen many days by them who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.

And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. It is hard for thee, to kick against the goads. And he trembling and astonished, said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said to him, Arise and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, to know his will, and see that Just one, and hear the voice of his mouth. For thou shalt be his witness to all men, of what thou hast seen and heard.

And the night following, the Lord standing by him, said, Be of good courage, Paul: for as thou hast testified the things concerning me at Jerusalem, so thou must testify at Rome also.

And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise and stand upon thy feet; for I have appeared to thee for this purpose, to ordain thee a minister and a witness, both of the things which thou hast seen,

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation, which began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by them that had heard him?

The elders that are among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and likewise a partaker of the glory which shall be revealed,

For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eye-witnesses of his majesty.

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have beheld, and our hands have handled of the word of life:

And be always ready to give an answer to every one that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience, that whereas they speak against you as evil doers, they may be ashamed who falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

Therefore be not thou ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel, according to the power of God, Who hath saved and called us with an holy calling,
