But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? In that hour Jesus said to the multitude, Are ye come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple and ye took me not. But all this is done, that the scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him and fled.

The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but wo to that man, by whom the Son of man is betrayed: it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

And he said to them, This day is the scripture fulfilled in your ears.

For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

Then he said to them, O foolish, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them the things in all the scriptures, concerning himself.

I know whom I have chosen, that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me, hath lift up his heel against me.

But the righteousness of God without the law is now manifested, being attested by the law and the prophets,

for he hath visited and redeemed his people, And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us, in the house of his servant David: As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, who have been since the world began: That we should be saved from our enemies,

But God hath thus fulfilled the things which he foretold by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer.

To him give all the prophets witness, that every one who believeth in him, shall receive forgiveness of sins through his name.

But having obtained help from God, I continue till this day, testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what both the prophets and Moses have declared should be,

Which he had promised before, by his prophets in the holy scriptures,

For I delivered to you first, that which I also received, That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, And that he was buried, and that he was raised the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. Afterwards he was seen by above five hundred brethren at once,

who prophesied of the grace of God toward you. Searching what, and what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them signified, when he testified before hand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that should follow. To whom it was revealed, that not for themselves, but for us they ministered the things which have been now declared to you by them that have preached the gospel to you, with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven: which things angels desire to look into.

(Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold the virgin shall be with child, and bring forth a Son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which is, being interpreted, God with us.)

Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, which could not perfect the worshiper as to his conscience, Only with meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed till the time of reformation. But Christ being come, an high-priest of good things to come, through a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is, not of this building, And not by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, entered in once for all into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Seeing ye know ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation delivered by tradition from your fathers, But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot,

And he that saw, hath testified it, and his testimony is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye may believe.

And ye are witnesses of these things. And behold I send the promise of my Father upon you:

And the Word was made flesh, and tabernacled among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.

Ye also testify, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

This is the disciple, who testifieth of these things, and wrote these things; and we know that his testimony is true. And there are also many other things which Jesus did,

But ye shall receive power, the Holy Ghost being come upon you, and shall be witnesses to me, both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth.

This Jesus God hath raised up, whereof all we are witnesses.

For we cannot but speak the things, which we have seen and heard.

And we are witnesses of these things, and also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

And he was seen many days by them who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.

The elders that are among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and likewise a partaker of the glory which shall be revealed,

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have beheld, and our hands have handled of the word of life: For the life was manifested, and we have seen, and testify and declare to you the eternal life which was with the Father, and was manifested to us:

And we have seen and testify, that the Father sent his Son to be the Saviour of the world.

And Jesus being baptized, went up straightway from the water, and lo the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and coming upon him. And lo a voice out of the heavens, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I delight.

And in those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John at Jordan. And coming up from the water, straitway he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him. And a voice came from heaven, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I delight.

Now while all the people were baptizing, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily form, like a dove, upon him, and a voice came from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I delight.

And John testified, saying, I saw the Spirit descending like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not, but he that sent me to baptize with water, he had said to me, On whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and abiding on him, this is he who baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw it, and testified, that this is the Son of God.

While he yet spake, behold a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold a voice out of the cloud which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I delight: hear ye him.

And there was a cloud that overshadowed them, and a voice came out of the cloud, This is my beloved Son; hear him.

And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son; hear ye him.

And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. Verily, verily I say unto you, Unless a grain of wheat that falleth into the ground die, it remaineth alone; but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world, shall preserve it to life eternal.read more.
If any man serve me, let him follow me, and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will the Father honour. Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour? But for this cause I came, for this hour. Father, glorify thy name. Then a voice came from heaven, I have both glorified, and I will glorify it again. The multitude who stood and heard it, said, It thundered: others said, An angel spake to him. Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to me.

For he received honour and glory from God the Father, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I delight. And we being with him in the holy mountain, heard this voice coming from heaven:

God hath fulfilled this to us their children, in raising up Jesus: as it is written also in the second Psalm, Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee. And because he raised him up from the dead, no more to return to corruption, he spake thus, I will give you the sure mercies of David. Because he hath appointed a day, in which he will judge the world righteously, by the man whom he hath ordained, whereof he hath given assurance to all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

And if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead, will also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

That if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thy heart, that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

And if Christ be not raised, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we testified from God, that he raised up Christ, whom he did not raise, if the dead rise not.

Who thro' him believe in God, that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory, that your faith and hope, might be in God.

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Christ who called you by his grace to another gospel, Which is not another; but there are some that trouble you, and would subvert the gospel of Christ. But if we or an angel from heaven preach to you another gospel than we have preached to you, let him be accursed:read more.
As we have said before, so I say now again, if any preach to you another gospel than that ye received, let him be accursed.

For other foundation can no man lay, than what is laid, which is Jesus Christ: And if any one build on this foundation, gold, silver, costly stones;

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby ye know the spirit of God: every spirit which confesseth Jesus Christ come in the flesh, is of God. And every spirit which confesseth not Jesus Christ come in the flesh, is not of God: and this is that spirit of Antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and now already it is in the world.
