God is a spirit, and they that worship Him, must worship in spirit and truth.

John to the seven churches in Asia---Grace and peace be to you, from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, These things saith He that hath the seven spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead:

And out of the throne came lightnings, and thunders, and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne; which are the seven spirits of God.

For the sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit; but the pharisees acknowledge both.

(Now at that very time He cured many of their diseases and plagues, and of evil spirits, and gave sight to many that were blind.)

by which also He went and preached to the spirits now in prison;

And he cried with vehemence, and with a loud voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of demons, a den of impure spirits, and a cage for every unclean and hateful bird.

Be sober, be vigilant; for your adversary the devil, like a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist, stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are endured by your brethren in the world.

Then was Jesus led by the spirit into the wilderness, to be tempted by the devil:

and He was there in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan, and among the wild beasts: and angels ministred unto Him.

and He did eat nothing in all those days: and when they were ended, at last He was hungry.

Submit yourselves therefore to God: resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you: cleanse your hands, O sinners, and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

And one of the multitude answered, and said, Master I have brought unto thee my son, who is possessed by a dumb spirit: and wherever it seizeth him, it convulseth him; and he fometh, and gnasheth his teeth, and thus he pineth away: and I desired thy disciples to cast him out, and they could not.

and lo, a spirit seizeth him, and all on a sudden he screameth, and it convulses him with foaming; and bruising him, with much ado departs from him.

And when He was come to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, there met Him two demoniacs coming out from the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no one could pass by that way:

And when He was landed, there met Him a man out of the city, who had been possessed by demons a long while, and wore no clothes, and abode in no dwelling but the tombs.

And there came out of those quarters a Canaanitish woman, and cried to Him saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; for my daughter is grievously tormented by a demon.

whose child was possessed by an evil spirit, having heard of Him, came and fell at his feet,

And there was in their synagogue a man with an impure spirit,

And there was a man in the synagogue possessed by the spirit of an impure demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,

And when it was evening they brought to him many demoniacs: and he cast out the evil spirits with a word, and healed all that were ill: that it might be fulfilled,

and He healed many that were ill of various diseases, and cast out many devils, and suffered not the devils to say that they knew Him.

And at sun-set all that had any persons sick of any diseases, brought them to Him: and He laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.

but if I by the Spirit of God cast out devils, then certainly the kingdom of God is come unto you.

But if I cast out demons by the power of God, you may be sure the kingdom of God is come unto you:

Bring him here to me. And when Jesus rebuked him, the demon departed out of him, and the child was cured from that time.

when Jesus saw the people flock together, He rebuked the impure spirit, and said to him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I command thee, Come out of him, and enter no more into him. And when he had rored and vehemently convulsed him, he came out of him: and the child was as one dead, so that many said, that he was dead.

And as he was coming along, the devil bruised and convulsed him: but Jesus rebuked the impure spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him to his father.

And a great number out of the cities round about also came together to Jerusalem, bringing those that were infirm and that were troubled with impure spirits; and they were all cured.

for impure spirits crying with a loud voice came out of many that were possessed by them; and many paralytic and lame persons were cured.

Beloved, believe not every Spirit, but try the spirits, whether they be of God: for many false prophets are gone out into the world.

to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another the discerning of spirits; to another various kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

By this ye may know the Spirit of God: every Spirit that confesseth Jesus Christ, who is come in the flesh, is of God: and every spirit that doth not confess Jesus Christ, who is come in the flesh, is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, which ye have heard was coming, and is already in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He, that is in you, than he that is in the world.read more.
They are of the world; therefore they speak as men of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he, that knoweth God, heareth us; but he, who is not of God, heareth not us. By this we know the Spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

And ye are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
