No temptation has yet taken you but what is common to man: and God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able to sustain; but will with the temptation also make a way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them: but wo to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea; for the devil is come down to you, in great rage, knowing that he hath but a short time.
and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he might deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years be finished: and then he must be loosed for a little time.

Again the devil taketh Him to a very high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; and saith unto Him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me: then Jesus saith unto him, Be gone, Satan; for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil left Him, and behold angels came and attended Him.
Now Jesus being full of the holy Spirit, returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being forty days tempted by the devil; and He did eat nothing in all those days: and when they were ended, at last He was hungry. And he brought Him to Jerusalem, and set him on a battlement of the temple, and said to Him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence; for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee, to keep thee, and they shall bear thee up in their hands, least thou dash thy foot against a stone. And Jesus answered him, it is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from Him for a time.
for as He himself hath suffered, in being tempted, He is able to succour those that are tempted.
for we have not an high-priest who cannot sympathize with our infirmities, but was in all respects tempted in like manner with us, yet without sin.
Submit yourselves therefore to God: resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Behold I give you power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the might of the enemy; and nothing shall at all hurt you.
Neither yield your bodies as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but present yourselves to God as alive from the dead, and your bodies as instruments of righteousness to God.
Be angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath; and give not the devil room to ensnare you.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil. Be sober, be vigilant; for your adversary the devil, like a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist, stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are endured by your brethren in the world.
Do ye therefore, beloved, as ye know these things before, take heed least being seduced together with them by the error of the wicked, ye should fall from your own stedfastness.
I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known Him that is from the beginning: and I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. Yea I have written to you, little children, because ye have known the Father: I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known Him that is from the beginning: and I have written to you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one---
But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you, and preserve you from the evil one.
We know that whosoever is born of God, doth not practise sin: but keepeth himself from it, and the wicked one doth not touch him.
I do not pray that Thou wouldest take them out of the world, but that thou wouldest keep them from the evil.
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one: for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever. Amen."
And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you my disciples, that he may sift you as wheat: but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith may not fail; and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made them an open spectacle, triumphing over them by it.
Now is the judgement of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished my race, I have kept the faith. As to what remains, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me in that day: and not to me only, but also to all those who have longed for his appearance.
Happy is the man who sustaineth temptation; for being approved he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.
Let him, that hath an ear, hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
He that overcometh shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name from the book of life; but I will own his name before my Father, and before his angels.
