¹⁵ therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, “behold, I will feed them, this people, with wormwood and give them bitter and poisonous water to drink. ¹⁶ I will [also] scatter them among nations that neither they nor their fathers have known, and I will send the sword after them until I have annihilated them.” ¹⁷ Thus says the Lord of hosts,

“Consider and call for the mourning women to come;
Send for the wailing women to come.

Leviticus 26:33

I will scatter you among the nations and draw out the sword [of your enemies] after you; your land will become desolate and your cities will become ruins.

Deuteronomy 28:64

And the Lord will scatter you among all the nations, from one end of the earth to the other; and there you will [be forced to] serve other gods, [lifeless gods of] wood and stone, which neither you nor your fathers have known.

Ezekiel 5:2

You shall burn one third with fire in the center of the city, when the days of the siege are completed. Then you shall take one third and strike it with the sword all around the city, and one third you shall scatter to the wind; and I will unsheathe a sword behind them.

Jeremiah 44:27
