But I want you to be free from concern. One who is unmarried is concerned about the affairs of the Lord, how he may please the Lord;

but a married man is concerned about the affairs of the world, how he may please his wife,

and his interests are divided. The unmarried woman, and the virgin, is concerned about the affairs of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and spirit; but the married woman is concerned about the affairs of the world, how she may please her husband.

For it is written in the Law of Moses, "You shall not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain." Is it for oxen that God is concerned?
