John answered them, "I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know.

Then they said to him, "Where is your Father?" Jesus answered, "You know neither me nor my Father; if you knew me, you would know my Father also."

The man answered, "Why, this is a marvel! You do not know where he comes from, and yet he opened my eyes.

See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God! And so we are! The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. And everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure. read more.
Everyone who commits sin also commits lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. And you know that he appeared to take away our sins, and in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him sins. No one who sins has either seen him or known him.

Anyone who runs ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ does not have God; he who abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.

And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me, he is like a branch that is cast away and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire and burned. read more.
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.

We know that anyone born of God does not sin; but he who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.
