Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.

See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all.

Strive for peace with all men, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.

Let us therefore pursue what makes for peace and for mutual edification.

Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me."

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children;

And he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. And he called to him the multitude with his disciples, and said to them, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

saying, "The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised." Then he said to them all, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

"Truly, truly, I say to you, the man who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs in by some other way, he is a thief and a robber. And he said to me, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. They will hunger no more, nor thirst anymore; the sun will not beat down on them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Then Peter answered him, "Behold, we have left everything and followed you. What then shall we have?" Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And every one who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name's sake, will receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. read more.
But many who are first will be last, and the last first.

Jesus looked at him and said, "How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Those who heard it said, "Then who can be saved?" read more.
But he said, "What is impossible with men is possible with God." Then Peter said, "Behold, we have left all and followed you." So he said to them, "Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the age to come eternal life."

Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me; but you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. read more.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one shall snatch them out of my hand.

And Jesus said to them, "Come follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men."

As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men." So when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.

Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one who does good is of God; the one who does evil has not seen God.

and he who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.
