[The] young lions are in want and suffer hunger, but those who seek Yahweh will not lack for any good thing.





Then Job arose and tore his outer garment and shaved his head; {then} he fell upon the ground and he worshiped. Then he said, "Naked I came out from my mother's womb, and naked I will return there. Yahweh gives, and Yahweh takes. Let Yahweh's name be blessed."



I have shown you [with respect to] all [things] that [by] working hard in this way it is necessary to help those who are in need, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus that he himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

And he answered [and] said to them, "The one who has two tunics must share with the one who does not have [one], and the one who has food must do likewise."

Now concerning the collection for the saints: just as I gave directions about [it] to the churches of Galatia, so you do also.

Command those [who are] rich in this present age not to be proud and not to put their hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in God, who provides us all [things] richly for enjoyment, to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, sharing freely,










And the disciples were astounded at his words. But Jesus answered [and] said to them again, "Children, how difficult it is to enter into the kingdom of God!



this also [is] an iniquity [to be] judged, for I have deceived God above.

"If I have made gold my trust, or I have called fine gold my security, if I have rejoiced because my wealth [was] great or because my hand found a fortune,

The wealth of the rich [is] {his strong city}, and like a wall, it is high in his imagination.

And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many possessions stored up for many years. Relax, eat, drink, celebrate!" ' But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your life is demanded from you, and [the things] which you have prepared--whose will they be?'


Let him not trust in emptiness--he will be deceiving himself-- for worthlessness will be his recompense.







And the disciples were astounded at his words. But Jesus answered [and] said to them again, "Children, how difficult it is to enter into the kingdom of God!



this also [is] an iniquity [to be] judged, for I have deceived God above.

"If I have made gold my trust, or I have called fine gold my security, if I have rejoiced because my wealth [was] great or because my hand found a fortune,

Thus says Yahweh, "[The] wise man must not boast in his wisdom, and the warrior must not boast in his might, [the] wealthy man must not boast in his wealth.


Command those [who are] rich in this present age not to be proud and not to put their hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in God, who provides us all [things] richly for enjoyment, to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, sharing freely, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the future, in order that they may take hold of [what is] truly life.


The saying [is] trustworthy, and I want you to insist concerning these [things], so that those who have believed in God may be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and beneficial for people.
