Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing gain to be godliness: from such withdraw thyself.








And now behold, I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: Save that the Holy Spirit testifieth in every city, saying, that bonds and afflictions abide me. But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I have received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.


But this I confess to thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:











Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest to God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.



But a certain fearful apprehension of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.



And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said to the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?

And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace. But Paul said to them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privately? no verily; but let them come themselves and bring us out.












And Paul, as his manner was, went in to them, and on three sabbaths reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.


Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he shall come and reign righteousness upon you.




Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thy iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.


Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.










When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee: And put a knife to thy throat, if thou art a man given to appetite.

Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled with it, and vomit it.





Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
