Defilement » Of sin
You have become guilty by the blood which you have shed, and defiled by your idols which you have made. Thus you have brought your day near and have come to your years; therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations and a mocking to all the lands.
And your fingers with iniquity;
Your lips have spoken
Your tongue mutters wickedness.
The earth is also polluted by its inhabitants, for they transgressed laws, violated statutes, broke the everlasting covenant.
In the unrighteousness of your trade
You profaned your sanctuaries.
Therefore I have brought
It has consumed you,
And I have turned you to
In the eyes of all who see you.
by setting their threshold by My threshold and their door post beside My door post, with only the wall between Me and them. And they have defiled My holy name by their abominations which they have committed. So I have consumed them in My anger.
See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;

"For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. "All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man."
