Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have confidence toward God, and whatever we ask we are receiving from him, because we are keeping his commandments and doing those things that are pleasing in his sight. I am not asking that thou wilt take them out of the world, but that thou wilt protect them from the Evil One. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Dedicate them in thy truth; thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I dedicate myself, that they also may be thoroughly dedicated in the truth. "Nor do I pray for them alone, but for those also who believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, even as thou, Father, art in me and I in thee; that they also may be in us; in order that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and thou in me; that they may be made perfectly one, so that the world may recognize that thou didst send me, and hast loved them as thou hast loved me.
