Then he said to them, O foolish, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them the things in all the scriptures, concerning himself.

And he said to them, Why sought ye me? Knew ye not, that I must be about my Father's business?
The same day came certain of the Pharisees, saying to him, Go out and depart from hence; for Herod is minded to kill thee. And he said to them, Go and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow; and the third day I am perfected. But I must go on to day, and to morrow, and the day following; for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day; the night is coming, when no man can work.

And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines and pestilences, and there shall be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached to all the world, for a testimony to all nations: and then shall the end come.
But this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.read more.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O Hades, where is thy victory; The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one may receive according to what he hath done in the body, whether good or evil.
After this I saw, and behold a door opened in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, as of a trumpet talking with me, said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
And I saw an angel descending out of heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit, and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, the old serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he might deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled. After this he must be loosed for a small time.
And he said to me, These sayings are faithful and true: the Lord the God of the holy prophets hath sent his angel, to shew his servants the things which must be done shortly.
For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, he is a debtor to do the whole law.
The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
And because hereof it behoveth him, as for the people, so also for himself to offer for sins.
For where a testament is, there must also necessarily be the death of the testator.
Jesus answered, Verily, verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit, is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
And Jesus calling to him a little child, set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say to you, except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
And there is salvation in no other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
The times of ignorance indeed God overlooked; but he now commandeth all men every where to repent.
He that saith, he abideth in him, ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
Therefore we who are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour, for his good, to edification.
These things I write to thee, hoping to come to thee shortly: But if I tarry, that thou mayst know how to behave in the house of God, which is the church of the living God.
But avoid profane and old wives fables, and exercise thyself unto godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth a little; but godliness is profitable for all things, having the promise of the present life, and of that which is to come.
Flee also youthful desires; but follow after righteousness, faith, love, peace with them that call upon the Lord, out of a pure heart. But avoid foolish and unlearned questions, knowing that they beget strife: And a servant of the Lord must not strive, but be gentle toward all men,
For the saving grace of God hath appeared to all men, Teaching us, that, having renounced ungodliness and all wordly desires, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present world, Looking for the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God, even our Saviour Jesus Christ.read more.
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
But the Lord said unto him, Go: for he is a chosen vessel to me, to bear my name before nations and kings, and the children of Israel. For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.

Yet now I exhort you to be of good courage; for there shall be no loss of any life among you, but of the ship only.
