Deuteronomy 25:5-6

Then the first son she bears will continue the name of the dead brother, thus preventing his name from being blotted out of Israel.

And you must tell the Israelites, 'If a man dies and has no son, then you must transfer his inheritance to his daughter; and if he has no daughter, then you are to give his inheritance to his brothers; and if he has no brothers, then you are to give his inheritance to his father's brothers; and if his father has no brothers, then you are to give his inheritance to his relative nearest to him from his family, and he will possess it. This will be for the Israelites a legal requirement, as the Lord commanded Moses.'"

Luke 15:11-12

Then Jesus said, "A man had two sons. The younger of them said to his father, 'Father, give me the share of the estate that will belong to me.' So he divided his assets between them.

Hebrews 12:16

Actually, there are many advantages. First of all, the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God.
