But woe to those with child and to those giving suck in those days! And pray that it be not in winter; for those days will be a time of tribulation, such as there has not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will be. And, unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would have been saved; but, for the elect's sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days. And then, if any one shall say to you, 'Lo, here is the Christ!' or, 'Lo, there!' believe him not; for there will arise false Christs and false prophets, and will show signs and wonders, in order to lead astray, if possible, the elect.
