But woe to those with child and to those giving suck in those days! And pray that it be not in winter; for those days will be a time of tribulation, such as there has not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will be. And, unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would have been saved; but, for the elect's sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days. And then, if any one shall say to you, 'Lo, here is the Christ!' or, 'Lo, there!' believe him not; for there will arise false Christs and false prophets, and will show signs and wonders, in order to lead astray, if possible, the elect. But take heed; I have foretold you all things. And there will be signs in sun, and moon, and stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity for the roaring of the sea and billows; men fainting for fear and for expectation of the things coming upon the inhabited earth; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And, when these things begin to come to pass, look up, and lift up your heads; because your redemption is drawing near."
