But woe to the women with child, and to those giving suck, in those days! And pray, that your flight be not in winter, nor on a sabbath; for then will be great tribulation, such as has not happened from the beginning of the world until now; no, nor ever shall be. And, unless those days should be shortened, no flesh could be saved: but, for the sake of the elect, those days will be shortened. Then, if any one shall say to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ!' or 'Here,' believe it not; for there will arise false Christs and false prophets; and they will give great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have foretold you. If, therefore, they say to you, 'Behold, He is in the wilderness;' go not forth; 'Behold, He is in the secret chambers,' believe it not, For, as the lightning comes forth from the east, and shines unto the west, so shall be the coming of the Son of Man. Wheresoever the carcase is, there the eagles will be gathered together. "And, immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give her light, and the stars will fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken; and then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven; and then will all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send forth His angels, with the sound of a great trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. "Now from the fig tree learn the parable; When already its branch becomes tender, and the leaves are putting forth, ye know that the summer is near; even so ye, when ye see all these things, know that it is near, at the doors. Verily I say to you, this generation will not pass away, until all these things come to pass. The heaven and the earth will pass away, but My words shall not pass away.
