And they compelled one that passed by, called Simon of Cyrene, which came out of the field, and was father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.


and hath put out the handwriting that was against us, contained in the law written, and that hath he taken out of the way, and hath fastened it to his cross,



be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, and whom God raised from death again, even by him doth this man stand here present before you whole.






And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, named Simon: him they compelled to bear his cross.

And when they had mocked him, they took the robe off him again, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him. And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, named Simon: him they compelled to bear his cross. And when they came unto the place, which is called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of dead men's skulls, read more.

And when they had mocked him, they took the purple off him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out, to crucify him. And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh, but he received it not.

And as they led him away, they caught one Simon of Cyrene, coming out of the field: And on him laid they the cross to bear it after Jesus. And there followed him a great company of people, and of women: which women bewailed, and lamented him. And the soldiers led him away into the common hall, and called together the whole multitude, and they clothed him with purple, and they plaited a crown of thorns and crowned him withal; And began to salute him, "Hail, King of the Jews." read more.
