And now, Lord, observe their threats [take them into account] and grant that Your bond-servants may declare Your message [of salvation] with great confidence,

And [pray] also for me, that [freedom of] utterance may be given me, that I may open my mouth to proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news (the Gospel), For which I am an ambassador in a coupling chain [in prison. Pray] that I may declare it boldly and courageously, as I ought to do.



My eyes fail [with longing, watching] for [the fulfillment of] Your promise,
Saying, “When will You comfort me?”



“I have surely heard Ephraim (Israel) moaning and grieving,
‘You have chastised me, and I was chastised,
Like a bull unaccustomed to the yoke or an untrained calf;
Bring me back that I may be restored,
For You are the Lord my God.


Restore us, O God of hosts;
And cause Your face to shine on us [with favor and approval], and we will be saved.


Restore us, O God of our salvation,
And cause Your indignation toward us to cease.



Ask for rain from the Lord at the time of the spring rain.
It is the Lord who makes the thunder clouds;
And He will give them showers of rain, grass in the field to everyone.



If you then, evil (sinful by nature) as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give what is good and advantageous to those who keep on asking Him.

Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you.







That Your way may be known upon earth, Your saving power (Your deliverances and Your salvation) among all nations. Let the peoples praise You [turn away from their idols] and give thanks to You, O God; let all the peoples praise and give thanks to You. Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness;
According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions.






If anyone sees his brother committing a sin that does not lead to death, he will pray and ask [on the believer’s behalf] and God will for him give life to those whose sin is not leading to death. There is a sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for this [kind of sin].



Now may the God of peace [Who is the Author and the Giver of peace], Who brought again from among the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood [that sealed, ratified] the everlasting agreement (covenant, testament), Strengthen (complete, perfect) and make you what you ought to be and equip you with everything good that you may carry out His will; [while He Himself] works in you and accomplishes that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ (the Messiah); to Whom be the glory forever and ever (to the ages of the ages). Amen (so be it).



Oh, do not hand over the soul of your turtledove to the wild beast;
Do not forget the life of Your afflicted forever.


Let not the oppressed return dishonored;
Let the afflicted and needy praise Your name.




My steps have held closely to Your paths;
My feet have not staggered.


He who testifies and affirms these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.



I sought Your favor with all my heart;
Be merciful and gracious to me according to Your promise.


Remember me, O Lord, when You favor Your people.
Visit me with Your salvation [when You rescue them],
