They pleaded with Samuel, “Pray to the Lord your God for your servants, so we won’t die! For we have added to all our sins the evil of requesting a king for ourselves.”

Pray for us; for we are convinced that we have a clear conscience, wanting to conduct ourselves honorably in everything.

Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel.

Finally, brothers, pray for us that the Lord’s message may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you,

Then the king responded to the man of God, “Plead for the favor of the Lord your God and pray for me so that my hand may be restored to me.” So the man of God pleaded for the favor of the Lord, and the king’s hand was restored to him and became as it had been at first.

“Please pray to the Lord for me,” Simon replied, “so that nothing you have said may happen to me.”


The Israelites said to Samuel, “Don’t stop crying out to the Lord our God for us, so that He will save us from the hand of the Philistines.”


Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not set his mind on what is false, and who has not sworn deceitfully.

Open the gates
so a righteous nation can come in—
one that remains faithful.










If You are going to treat me like this, please kill me right now. If You are pleased with me, don’t let me see my misery anymore.”

but he went on a day’s journey into the wilderness. He sat down under a broom tree and prayed that he might die. He said, “I have had enough! Lord, take my life, for I’m no better than my fathers.”

“What do you want?” He asked her.

“Promise,” she said to Him, “that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right and the other on Your left, in Your kingdom.”




When all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized. As He was praying, heaven opened,

Jesus spoke these things, looked up to heaven, and said:

Father,
the hour has come.
Glorify Your Son
so that the Son may glorify You,

So they removed the stone. Then Jesus raised His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You heard Me.


Then He withdrew from them about a stone's throw, knelt down, and began to pray, "Father, if You are willing, take this cup away from Me-nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done." [


But the news about Him spread even more, and large crowds would come together to hear Him and to be healed of their sicknesses. Yet He often withdrew to deserted places and prayed.


After He said good-bye to them, He went away to the mountain to pray. When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and He was alone on the land.


While He was praying in private and His disciples were with Him, He asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”
