For neither at any time used we flattering words, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness; God is witness:


For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:



And my speech and my preaching were not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.


Cry aloud, spare not, lift up your voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

And you, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you, and you do dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

What I tell you in darkness, that speak in light: and what you hear in the ear, that preach upon the housetops. And fear not them who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.






Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.




And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have showed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house,






But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silas and Timothy, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.





Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: The one preach Christ out of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defense of the gospel.


So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because you were dear unto us.






Son of man, I have made you a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, You shall surely die; and you give him not warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at your hand.
