My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.
For, "All flesh is like grass, and all it's glory like the flower in the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls;
The voice of one saying, "Cry." One said, "What shall I cry?" "All flesh is like grass, and all its glory is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, because the LORD's breath blows on it. Surely the people are like grass. The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of the LORD stands forever."

Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ, our Lord. So then with the mind, I myself serve God's law, but with the flesh, the sin's law.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire. Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts.
Put to death, therefore, whatever is worldly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.
Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.
