But I say to you that every one who divorces his wife, except on the ground of unchastity, causes her to become an adulteress; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery."

Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.

For a married woman is bound by law to her husband as long as he lives, but if her husband dies she is released from the law of her husband.

"It has also been said, 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.'

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for God will judge the immoral and adulterous.

A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.

The Pharisees came and in order to test him asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?" He answered them, "What did Moses command you?" They said, "Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce, and to put her away."read more.
But Jesus said to them, "Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment. But from the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.' 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate." In the house his disciples also asked him again about this matter. So he said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery."

To the married I give charge, not I but the Lord, that the wife should not separate from her husband

He said to them, "Because of the hardness of your hearts Moses permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.

But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. Early in the morning he came again to the temple; all the people came to him, and he sat down and taught them. Then the scribes and the Pharisees brought to him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst,read more.
they said to him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. Now in the law Moses commanded us to stone such. What do you say?" They said this to test him, that they might have something of which to accuse him. But Jesus bent down and wrote on the ground with his finger. And when they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her." And again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it went away one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last, and Jesus was left alone, with the woman standing before him. Jesus straightened up and said to her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go, and sin no more."

Then Josnt her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to put her to public shame, was resolved to divorce her quietly.

"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.'

Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate."

But if the unbelieving partner leaves, let him do so; in such a case the brother or sister is not bound. For God has called us to peace.

"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.read more.
And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to go into hell.

It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: a man has his father's wife.

"If any one comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.

He who is able to accept it, let him accept it."

And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and turns to you seven times, and says, 'I repent,' you must forgive him."

Any one whom you forgive, I also forgive. What I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ,

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor sexual perverts,

But as for the cowardly, the unbelieving, the immoral, as for murderers, fornicators, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their lot will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."

But because of immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.read more.
Do not deprive one another, except by agreement for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,

inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
