That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
And he made from one man every nation of men to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation,
As was the man of dust, so are those who are of the dust; and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so death spread to all men, because all men sinned.
But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if by the one man's trespass many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. And the free gift is not like the effect of that one man's sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the gift following many trespasses brings justification. For if, by the one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.)read more.
So then, as one man's trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one man's act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
For since by a man came death, by a man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.
For the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will, but by the will of him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and obtain the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Among them we all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, following the desires of flesh and mind, and so we were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
While we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death.
Though they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
So you witness that you approve of the deeds of your fathers; for they killed them, and you build their tombs.
Then he fell on his knees and cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
When the blood of Stephen your witness was shed, I also was standing by and approving, and keeping the garments of those who were killing him.'
The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself for what he approves.
Consider Israel after the flesh; are not those who eat the sacrifices partners in the altar? What do I mean then? That a thing offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? No, but I say that the things pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be partners with demons.
but as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct; because it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy."
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
Then I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins and receive of her plagues;
A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.
Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.
Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others; keep yourself pure.
I urge you, brethren, to take note of those who cause divisions and difficulties, contrary to the doctrine which you have learned; avoid them.
I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people; not at all meaning the immoral people of this world, or with the greedy and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world. But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any one who bears the name of brother if he is an immoral person, or greedy, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindlernot even to eat with such a one.
If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with him, so that he may be ashamed.
