Let no corrupt word come out of your mouth; but what is good to useful edification, that it may benefit the hearers.

nor ribaldry, nor buffoonery, nor wanton jesting, which are not meet: but rather giving of thanks.

If any among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his heart, this man's devotion is vain.

A good man, out of the good treasure of his heart, bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man, out of the evil treasure of his heart, bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Be not deceived, bad conversations corrupt good morals.

Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with discretion to know how ye ought to answer every one.

So the tongue is a small part of the body, yet boasteth great things. Behold how much fuel a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our several parts, defiling the whole body, inflaming the course of nature, and is set on fire by hell.
