1 Peter 3:1-2

Acts 2:5-14

Then Peter stood with the Eleven around him, and raising his voice he addressed them, "Men of Judea and all you residents of Jerusalem, let me explain this to you, and give close attention to my words.

Acts 14:8-11

Now in the streets of Lystra a man used to sit who had no strength in his feet, who had been crippled from his birth, and had never walked. He continued listening to Paul as he spoke, and as Paul by looking straight at him observed that he had faith that he would be cured, he shouted aloud to him, "Get on your feet and stand erect!" suddenly there was an earthquake so great that it shook the very foundations of the jail, the doors all flew open, and every prisoner's chains were unfastened. When the jailer awoke and saw that the jail doors were open, he drew his sword and was on the point of killing himself, because he thought that the prisoners had escaped. Then the jailer called for lights and rushed in and fell trembling at the feet of Paul and Silas. After leading them out of the jail, he said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" They answered, "Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you and your household will be saved."

Then Peter put them all out of the room, knelt down and prayed, and, turning to the body, said, "Tabitha, get up!" Then she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. With many more words he continued to testify and to plead with them to save themselves from that crooked age. So they accepted his message and were baptized, and about three thousand persons united with them on that day.
