Even from the towns around Jerusalem crowds continued coming in to bring their sick ones and those troubled with foul spirits, and they were all cured.

So Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ now cures you! Get up and make your bed!" And at once he got up.

he shouted aloud to him, "Get on your feet and stand erect!" Then up he leaped and began to walk.

She kept this up for a number of days. Because Paul was so much annoyed by her, he turned and said to the spirit in her, "In the name of Jesus Christ I order you to come out of her." And that very moment it came out.

I most solemnly say to you, whoever perseveres in believing in me can himself do the things that I am doing; yes, he can do even greater things than I am doing, because I am going to the Father.

He answered them, "Because you have so little faith! For I solemnly say to you, if you have the faith that is living like a grain of mustard, you can say to this mountain, 'Move over from here to yonder,' and it will move over, and nothing will be impossible for you to do."

And Jesus answered them, "I solemnly say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt at all, you will not only do the sort of wonder done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Get up and throw yourself into the sea,' it will be done.

It is His name, that is, on condition of faith in His name, that has made strong again this man whom you see and recognize -- yes, faith inspired by Him has given this man the perfect health you all see.

Now Stephen, full of grace and power, went on performing great signs and wonders among the people.

While He was still speaking, someone came from the house of the leader of the synagogue and said, "Your daughter is dead; stop troubling the Teacher anymore." But Jesus heard it and said to him, "Do not be afraid; just have faith, and she will get well." When He reached the house, He let no one go in with Him but Peter, James, and John, and the child's father and mother. read more.
Now they were all weeping and wailing over her. But He said, "Stop weeping! For she is not dead but asleep." Then they began to laugh in His face, for they knew that she was dead. But He grasped her hand and called out, "My child, get up!" So her spirit returned and she got up at once, and He directed that something be given her to eat. And her parents were astounded, but He ordered them not to tell anyone what had taken place.

And Jesus, on coming to the house of the official, and on seeing the flute-players and the wailing crowd, said, "Go away, for the girl is not dead, but is sleeping." And they began to laugh in His face. But when the crowd had been driven out, He went in and took hold of her hand, and the girl got up. read more.
And the news about her spread all over that country.

And just as He was saying these things to them, an official came up and fell on his knees before Him, and said, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand upon her and she will come to life." And Jesus got up and followed him; and His disciples, too.

And a man named Jairus, a leader of a synagogue, came up, and when he saw Jesus he flung himself at His feet and kept earnestly begging Him, saying, "My dear little daughter is at the point of death. Come, lay your hands on her, so that she may get well and live." So He went off with him, and a great crowd kept following Him, and jostling Him.

Even while He was saying this, people came from the house of the leader of the synagogue and said, "Your daughter is dead; why trouble the Teacher any longer?" But Jesus paid no attention to what was said, but said to the leader of the synagogue, "Do not be afraid; only keep up your faith." He let no one go with Him but Peter, James, and James's brother John. read more.
They came to the home of the leader of the synagogue, and there He saw confusion, and people weeping and wailing without restraint. And He went into the house and said to them, "Why do you continue all this confusion and crying? The little girl is not dead but is sleeping." Then they began to laugh in His face. But He drove them all out, and took the little girl's father and mother and the men with Him, and went into the room where the little girl was. Then He grasped her hand and said to her, "Talitha koum," which means, "Little girl, I tell you, get up!" And the little girl at once got up and started walking around, for she was twelve years old. And instantly they were completely dumbfounded. But He strictly charged them to let nobody know about it, and told them to give her something to eat.

After He had gone into the house, and the blind men had gone up to Him, Jesus said to them, "Do you really believe that I can do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord."

He continued listening to Paul as he spoke, and as Paul by looking straight at him observed that he had faith that he would be cured,

He did not do many wonder-works there, because of their lack of faith.

and many a time it has thrown him into the fire or into the water, to destroy him. But if there is anything you can do for him, do pity us and help us!" Jesus said to him, "If there is anything I can do! Everything is possible for him who has faith!" The boy's father at once cried out and said, "I do have faith; help my lack of faith!"

But I have testimony that is higher than John's, for the works which my Father has committed to me to finish, the very works that I am doing, testify to me that the Father has sent me;

"Fellow Israelites, listen to what I say. Jesus of Nazareth, as you yourselves well know, a man accredited to you by God through mighty deeds and wonders and wonder-works which God performed through Him right here among you,

And Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind are seeing and the crippled are walking, the lepers are being healed and the deaf are hearing, the dead are being raised and the poor are having the good news preached to them. And happy is the man who finds no cause for stumbling over me."

So the men went to Him and said, "John the Baptist sent us to you to ask, 'Are you the One who was to come, or should we continue to look for someone else?'" At that very hour He cured many people of diseases and scourges and evil spirits, and graciously granted sight to many blind persons. And so He answered them, "Go and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind are seeing and the crippled are walking, the lepers are being healed and the deaf are hearing, the dead are being raised and the poor are having the good news preached to them.

In spite of this, however, they stayed there a considerable time and continued to speak with courage from the Lord, who continued to bear testimony to His gracious message and kept on granting signs and wonders to be done by them.

By this he quieted the whole congregation, and they listened to Barnabas and Paul tell of the signs and wonders which God had done through them among the heathen.

God also continued to do such wonder-works through Paul

The marks that signify the genuine apostle were exhibited among you in my perfect patience, in signs, wonders, and wonder-works.

Then Jesus said to him, "Unless you see signs and wonders, you will never believe."

But when it was evening, His disciples came to Him and said, "This is a destitute place, and the day is over; send the crowds off to the villages to buy themselves food."

Then He took the five loaves and the two fish and looked up to heaven and blessed the loaves and broke them in pieces and gave the pieces to the disciples to pass on to the people. He also divided the two fish among them all.

As the day began to decline, the Twelve came up and said to Him, "Send the crowd off to the villages and farms around, to get lodging and to find food there, for we are in a destitute place here."

So Jesus looked up and saw that a vast crowd was coming toward Him, and said to Philip, "Where can we buy bread for these people to eat?"

And He got into a boat, and His disciples went with Him. And suddenly a furious storm came up, so that the boat was being covered over by the bursting billows, but He kept on sleeping. So they went to Him and woke Him up, and said, "Lord, save us; we are going down!" read more.
And He said to them, "Why are you afraid, O you with little faith?" Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men were dumbfounded, and said, "What sort of man is this, for even the winds and the sea obey Him!"

That same day when it was evening, He said to them, "Let us go over to the other Side." So they left the crowd and took Him in the boat in which he was sitting. And there were other boats with Him. But a furious squall of wind came up, and the waves were dashing over into the boat, so that it was fast filling. read more.
He was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. So they woke Him up and said to Him, "Teacher, is it no concern to you that we are going down?" Then He aroused Himself and reproved the wind, and said to the sea, "Hush! Be still." And the wind lulled, and there was a great calm. Then He asked them, "Why are you afraid? Have you no faith yet?" They were very much frightened, and said to one another, "Who can He be that even the wind and the sea obey Him?"

One day He got into a boat with His disciples, and He said to them, "Let us cross to the other side of the lake." So they set sail. Now as they were sailing along, He fell off to sleep. But a furious squall of wind rushed down upon the lake, and they were filling up and were in impending peril. So they came to Him and woke Him up, and said, "Master, Master, we are perishing? Then He aroused Himself and reproved the wind and the surge of the water, and they stopped at once and instantly there came a calm. read more.
Then He said to them, "Where is your faith?" But they were frightened and astounded, and continued to say to one another, "Who can He be? For He gives orders even to the winds and the water, and they obey Him."

And when they got into the boat, the wind lulled,

Many of the people began to rebuke him and to tell him to keep quiet, but all the louder he kept shouting, "You son of David, do pity me!" read more.
So Jesus stopped and said, "Tell him to come here." Then they told the blind man, saying, "Cheer up! Get up! He is calling for you." He threw off his coat and jumped up and went to Jesus. Then Jesus asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?" The blind man answered, "Good Teacher, I want to see again." Then Jesus said to him, "Go; your faith has cured you." And all at once he could see again, and began to follow Jesus along the road.

As they were leaving Jericho, a great crowd followed Him. And two blind men sitting by the roadside heard that Jesus was passing and cried out, "Do pity us, Lord, you Son of David!" The crowd reproved them and urged them to keep quiet, but they cried out all the louder, "Do pity us, Lord, you Son of David!" read more.
And Jesus stopped and called them, and asked, "What do you want me to do for you?" They answered Him, "Lord, we want our eyes opened!" Then Jesus' heart was moved with pity, and He touched their blinded eyes, and at once they could see again, and followed Him.

As He was approaching Jericho, a blind man chanced to be sitting by the roadside begging. As he heard a crowd going by, he asked what it meant. They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was coming by. read more.
Then he cried out, "Jesus, you Son of David, do pity me!" But those who were marching in front reproved him and told him to keep quiet, but he cried out all the louder, "O Son of David, do pity me!" Then Jesus stopped and ordered him to be brought to Him. And when he approached Jesus, He said to him, "What do you want me to do for you?" He answered, "Lord, I want to see again!" Then Jesus said to him, "See again! Your faith has cured you." So at once he saw again, and began to follow Him, giving thanks to God. And all the people saw it and gave praise to God.

And God has placed people in the church, first as apostles, second as prophets, third as teachers, then wonder-workers; then people with power to cure the sick, helpers, managers, ecstatic speakers.

But if I by the Spirit of God am driving the demons out, then the kingdom of God has come to you.

by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Holy Spirit. So I have completed the telling of the good news of Christ all the way from Jerusalem around to Illyricum.

Not all are people with power to cure the sick, are they? Not all are ecstatic speakers, are they? Not all can explain ecstatic speaking, can they?

to another, through union with the same Spirit, faith; to another, by one and the same Spirit, power to cure the sick; to another, power for working wonders; to another, prophetic insight; to another, the power to discriminate between the true Spirit and false spirits; to another, various ecstatic utterances; and to another, the power to explain them.

In spite of this, however, they stayed there a considerable time and continued to speak with courage from the Lord, who continued to bear testimony to His gracious message and kept on granting signs and wonders to be done by them.

Then they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept on working with them and confirming their message by the signs that attended it.

by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Holy Spirit. So I have completed the telling of the good news of Christ all the way from Jerusalem around to Illyricum.

while God continued to confirm their testimony with signs, marvels, and various sorts of wonder-works, and with gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed in accordance with His will.

And He at once had the disciples get into the boat and cross to the other side ahead of Him, while He dismissed the crowds. After He had dismissed the crowds, He went up the hill alone to pray. And after the evening came on, He was there alone, but the boat was already a long way from shore, and was being tossed by the waves, for the wind was against them. read more.
Just before day He went out to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, "It is a ghost!" And they screamed with fright. Then Jesus at once spoke to them, "Be men of courage! It is I; stop being afraid." Peter answered Him, "Lord, if it is you, let me come to you on the water." And He said, "Come." And Peter got down out of the boat and walked on the water, and he went toward Jesus. But when he felt the wind, he was frightened, and as he began to go down, he cried out, "Lord, save me!" Jesus at once put out His hand and caught hold of him, and said to him, "O you of little faith! Why did you waver so?" And when they got into the boat, the wind lulled, And the men in the boat worshiped Him, and said, "You are certainly God's Son."

Then He insisted that the disciples at once get into their boat and cross ahead of Him toward Bethsaida, while He was sending the crowd away. After He had told them "Goodbye," He went up the hill to pray. Now when evening had come, the boat was in the middle of the sea, while He was alone on land. read more.
And because He saw that they were struggling at the oars, for the wind was against them, a while before daybreak He started toward them walking on the sea, and He meant to go right up beside them. But when they saw Him walking on the sea, they thought that it was a ghost and screamed aloud, for they all saw Him and were terrified. But He at once spoke to them and said, "Keep up courage! It is I; stop being afraid." Then He went up to them and got into the boat, and the wind lulled. They were completely dumbfounded, for they did not understand the lesson of the loaves; their minds were dull.

When evening came, His disciples went down to the sea and got into a boat and started across the sea to Capernaum. Now it was already dark, and Jesus had not come to them. The sea was getting rough, because a strong wind was blowing. read more.
When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were terror-stricken. But He said to them, "It is I; stop being afraid!" Then they were willing to take Him on board, and at once the boat came to the shore it was making for.

Now Herod was very glad to see Jesus, for he had been wanting to see Him for a long time on account of what he had heard about Him; also he was hoping to see some spectacular performance done by Him.

"He saved others but He cannot save Himself. He is the king of Israel, is He? Well, let Him come down from the cross, and we will believe in Him.

Now as the crowds continued to throng upon Him, He began to say: "This is a wicked age. It is looking for a spectacular sign, but none will be given it but the sign of Jonah.

The Pharisees and the Sadducees came up, and to test Him asked Him to show them a spectacular sign from heaven.

But others, to test Him, were demanding from Him a spectacular sign from heaven.

Now Herod was very glad to see Jesus, for he had been wanting to see Him for a long time on account of what he had heard about Him; also he was hoping to see some spectacular performance done by Him.

Now as the crowds continued to throng upon Him, He began to say: "This is a wicked age. It is looking for a spectacular sign, but none will be given it but the sign of Jonah.

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered Him as follows: "Teacher, we would like to see a spectacular sign given by you." But He answered, "Only a wicked and treacherous age is hankering for a spectacular sign, and no sign will be given it but the sign of the prophet Jonah.

When they reached the crowd, a man came up to Him, kneeling before Him and saying, "Lord, do pity my son, for he has epilepsy and suffers excruciating pain, and often falls into the fire or into the water. I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him." read more.
And Jesus answered, "O you unbelieving and perverted people of the times! How long can I put up with you? Bring him here to me!" And Jesus reproved the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was cured that very moment. After that the disciples came to Jesus and privately asked, "Why is it we could not drive it out?" He answered them, "Because you have so little faith! For I solemnly say to you, if you have the faith that is living like a grain of mustard, you can say to this mountain, 'Move over from here to yonder,' and it will move over, and nothing will be impossible for you to do." When they came to the disciples, they saw a great crowd around them and some scribes arguing with them. And all the people were utterly amazed when they saw Him, and ran up to Him and greeted Him. Then He asked them, "Why are you arguing with them?" read more.
A man from the crowd answered Him, "Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a dumb spirit. Wherever it seizes him, it convulses him, and he foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth; and he is wasting away. So I asked your disciples to drive it out, but they could not do it." He answered them, "Oh, you unbelieving people of the times! How long must I be with you! How long must I put up with you! Bring him to me." And they brought the boy to Him. As soon as the spirit saw Him, it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and kept rolling over and foaming at the mouth. Then He asked his father, "How long has he been like this?" He answered, "From his childhood; and many a time it has thrown him into the fire or into the water, to destroy him. But if there is anything you can do for him, do pity us and help us!" Jesus said to him, "If there is anything I can do! Everything is possible for him who has faith!" The boy's father at once cried out and said, "I do have faith; help my lack of faith!" Then Jesus, because He saw that a crowd was rushing up to Him, reproved the foul spirit and said to it, "You deaf and dumb spirit, get out of him, I charge you, and never get into him again." Then it gave a shriek and violently convulsed the boy, and got out of him. And the boy looked like a corpse, so much so that the people said that he was dead. But Jesus grasped his hand and raised him, and he got up. When Jesus got home and was by Himself, His disciples were asking Him, "Why could not we drive it out?" He answered them, "This sort of thing can be driven out only by prayer."

The next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a great crowd met Him. Then a man in the crowd at once shouted, "Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, because he is my only child; all at once a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly screams, and it convulses him until he foams at the mouth, and in a struggle it bruises him and then leaves him. read more.
I begged your disciples to drive it out, but they could not." Then Jesus answered, "O you unbelieving, stubborn people of the times! How long must I be with you and put up with you? Bring him here to me." Even while the boy was coming to Him, the demon dashed him down and convulsed him, but Jesus reproved the foul spirit and cured the boy and gave back to his father. So they all continued to be utterly astounded at the greatness of God. Now while everybody was wondering at all that He was doing, He said to His disciples,

Then Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah, for it is not man that made this known to you, but my Father in heaven.

But when they saw Him walking on the sea, they thought that it was a ghost and screamed aloud,

When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were terror-stricken.

When they reached the crowd, a man came up to Him, kneeling before Him and saying,

Then it gave a shriek and violently convulsed the boy, and got out of him. And the boy looked like a corpse, so much so that the people said that he was dead.

And a woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years came up and touched the tassel on His coat. For she kept saying to herself, "If I can only touch His coat, I will get well." And Jesus, on turning and seeing her, said, "Cheer up, my daughter! Your faith has cured you." And from that moment the woman was well.

Then a woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years, and had suffered much at the hands of many doctors, and had spent all she had, and yet was not a whit benefited but rather grew worse, heard the reports about Jesus. So she came up in the crowd behind Him and touched His coat, read more.
for she kept saying, "If I can only touch His clothes, I shall get well." Her hemorrhage stopped at once, and she felt in her body that she was cured. Jesus at once perceived that power had gone out of Him, and so He turned around in the crowd, and asked, "Who touched my clothes?" But the disciples kept saying to Him, "You see the crowd jostling you, and yet you ask, 'Who touched me?'" Still He kept looking around to see her who had done it. So the woman, as she knew what had taken place for her, though frightened and trembling, came forward and fell on her knees before His feet, and told Him the whole truth. And He said to her, "My daughter, your faith has cured you. Go in peace and be free from your disease."

Then a woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years, who could not be cured by anybody, came up behind Him and touched the tassel on His coat, and the hemorrhage stopped at once. Then Jesus said, "Who was it that touched me?" But as all were denying that they had done so, Peter said, "Master, the crowds are jamming you and jostling you." read more.
Still Jesus said, "Somebody touched me, for I felt it when the power passed from me." When the woman saw that she had not escaped His notice, she came forward trembling, and falling down before Him she told in the presence of all the people why she had touched Him and how she had been cured at once. So He said to her, "My daughter, it is your faith that has cured you; go on in peace."

Then He rose to leave the synagogue, and He went to Simon's house. And Simon's mother-in-law was in the grip of a burning fever; so they asked Him about her. Then He took His stand by her and reproved the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them.

As soon as they left the synagogue, they went home with Simon and Andrew, in company with James and John. And Simon's mother-in-law was confined to her bed with a fever. So they at once told Him about her. Then He went up to her, grasped her hand, and had her get up. The fever left her, and she began to wait upon them.

When He went into Peter's house, He saw his mother-in-law lying in bed sick with fever. He touched her hand, the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on Him. When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were under the power of demons, and at a mere word He drove the spirits out, and cured all who were sick, read more.
and so fulfilled what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, "He took our sicknesses and bore away our diseases."

When He went into Peter's house, He saw his mother-in-law lying in bed sick with fever.

Then He went up to her, grasped her hand, and had her get up. The fever left her, and she began to wait upon them.

Then He rose to leave the synagogue, and He went to Simon's house. And Simon's mother-in-law was in the grip of a burning fever; so they asked Him about her.

And just as He was saying these things to them, an official came up and fell on his knees before Him, and said, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand upon her and she will come to life."

And the little girl at once got up and started walking around, for she was twelve years old. And instantly they were completely dumbfounded.

Then a woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years, who could not be cured by anybody,

When He reached the other side, in the district of Gadara, there faced Him two men, who were under the power of demons, who were just coming out from the tombs. They were such terrors that nobody could pass that way. And they suddenly screamed, "What do you want of us, you Son of God? Have you come here before the appointed time to torture us?" Now there was not far from there a large drove of hogs feeding. read more.
And the demons kept begging Him and saying, "If you are going to drive us out, send us into the drove of hogs." And He said to them, "Be gone!" And they went out of the men and got into the hogs, and suddenly the whole drove, in a stampede, rushed over the cliff into the sea, and died in the water. And the men who fed them fled, and went off to the town, and told it all, and what occurred to the two men who were under the power of demons. And suddenly all the town turned out to meet Jesus, and as soon as they saw Him, they begged Him to move on and leave their neighborhood.

So they landed on the other side of the sea in the region of Gerasa. As soon as He got out of the boat, a man under the power of a foul spirit and from the tombs met Him. This man lived among the tombs, and no one could any longer subdue him even with a chain, read more.
for he had often been fastened with fetters and chains but had snapped the chains and broken the fetters, and no one was strong enough to overpower him. All night and all day he kept screaming among the tombs and on the hills, and kept gashing himself with stones. On catching a glimpse of Jesus from a distance, he ran up and fell down on his knees before Him, and screamed aloud, "What do you want of me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God's name, I beg you, do not torture me." For Jesus was saying to him, "You foul spirit, come out of him." He asked him, "What is your name?" He answered, "My name is Legion, for we are many." And they kept on earnestly begging Him not to send them out of that country. Now there was a large drove of hogs grazing on the hillside. And they begged Him, "Send us among the hogs, so that we can get into them." So He let them do so. And the foul spirits came out of the man and got into the hogs, and the drove of about two thousand rushed over the cliff and into the sea and were drowned. Then the hog-feeders fled and spread the news in the town and in the country around; and the people came to see what had taken place. When they came to Jesus and saw the man who had once been insane under the power of many demons, sitting, with his clothes on, and in his right mind, they were frightened. And those who had seen it told them how it occurred to the man who had been under the power of the demons, and about the hogs. Then they began to beg Jesus to leave their neighborhood. And as He was getting into the boat, the once insane man kept begging Him to let him go with Him. However, He did not let him, but said to him, "Go home to your folks, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and has taken pity on you." And so he went away and began to tell everybody in the Ten Cities how much Jesus had done for him; and everybody was dumbfounded.

They landed in the neighborhood of Gerasa, which is just across the lake from Galilee. As soon as He stepped out upon the shore, there met Him a man from town, who was under the power of demons; and for a long time he had worn no clothes, and did not stay in a house but in tombs. When he saw Jesus, he screamed and flung himself down before Him, and said in a loud voice, "What do you want of me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you not to torture me!" read more.
For He was commanding the foul spirit to get out of the man. For on many occasions it had seized him, and repeatedly he had been fastened with chains and fetters under constant guard, and yet he would snap his bonds, and the demon would drive him into desert places. So Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" And he answered, "Legion!" For many demons had gone into him. Then they continued to beg Him not to order them to go off to the bottomless pit. Now there was a large drove of hogs feeding there on the hillside. So they begged Him to let them go into those hogs. And He let them do so. Then the demons came out of the man and went into the hogs, and the drove rushed over the cliff into the lake and were drowned. When the men who fed them saw what had taken place, they fled and spread the news in the town and in the country around. So the people went out to see what had taken place, and they went to Jesus and found the man out of whom the demons had gone sitting at the feet of Jesus, with his clothes on and in his right mind; and they were frightened. Then they who had seen it told them how the man who had been under the power of demons was cured. Then all the inhabitants of the country around Gerasa asked Him to go away from them, because they were terribly frightened. So He got into a boat and went back. The man out of whom the demons had gone begged Him to let him go with Him, but Jesus sent him away and said, "Go back to your home, and continue to tell what great things God has done for you." But he went off and told all over the town what great things Jesus had done for him.

And whenever the foul spirits saw Him, they fell down before Him and screamed, "You are the Son of God."

But at the very time they were going out, some people brought to Him a dumb man, who was under the power of a demon, and after the demon had been driven out, the dumb man could talk. So the crowds were dumbfounded, saying, "Never before among the Jews was anything like this?

At that time some people brought to Him a man under the power of demons, who was blind and dumb, and He cured him, so that the dumb man could talk and see. And all the crowds of people were dumbfounded, and began to say, "He is by no means the Son of David, is He?" But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, "This man is not driving out demons except by the help of Beelzebub, the prince of the demons." read more.
But because He knew their thoughts, He said to them, "Any kingdom that is not united is in the process of destruction, and any city or family that is not united cannot last. Now if Satan is driving out Satan, he has become disunited; how then can his kingdom last? And if I am driving out demons by the help of Beelzebub, by whose help are your sons driving them out? So they must be your judges. But if I by the Spirit of God am driving the demons out, then the kingdom of God has come to you. Or, how can anyone get into a giant's house and carry off his goods, unless he first binds the giant? After that he can make a clean sweep of his house. Whoever is not in partnership with me is against me, and whoever does not gather in partnership with me scatters. So I tell you, every sin and all abusive speech will be forgiven men, but abuse against the Spirit cannot be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven for it, but whoever speaks abusively against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven for it, either in this world or in the world to come. "You must either make the tree healthy and its fruits healthy or make the tree sickly and its fruits sickly, for a tree is judged by its fruit. You brood of vipers! How can you, wicked as you are, say anything that is good? For the mouth talks about the things that fill the heart. The good man out of his good inner storehouse, brings out good things, the bad man, out of his bad one, bad things. So I tell you, for every worthless word that men utter they will have to give account on the day of judgment; for it is by your words that you will be acquitted and by your words that you will be condemned."

Now He was driving a dumb demon out of a man, and when the demon went out of him, the dumb man spoke. The crowds were astonished. But some of them said, "It is with the help of Beelzebub, the prince of demons, that He is driving the demons out."

When He reached the other side, in the district of Gadara, there faced Him two men, who were under the power of demons, who were just coming out from the tombs. They were such terrors that nobody could pass that way.

So they landed on the other side of the sea in the region of Gerasa.

They landed in the neighborhood of Gerasa, which is just across the lake from Galilee.

Then He put out His hand and touched him, and said, "I do choose to; be cured." And at once his leprosy was cured.

And His heart was moved with pity for him, so He stretched out His hand and touched him, and said, "I do want to! Be cured!"

So He reached out His hand and touched him, saying, "I do choose to; be cured." And at once the leprosy left him.

Now there was a man there with one hand withered. And, to get a charge against Him, they asked Him, "Is it right to cure people on the sabbath?"

Then He went into a synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand.

On another Sabbath He found Himself in the synagogue teaching; and there was there a man whose right hand was withered.

Then He went all over Galilee, as He continued teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and curing any disease or malady among the people. So the news about Him spread all over Syria, and people brought to Him all who were sick with various diseases, especially those who were suffering with torturing diseases; and he cured them. So great crowds followed Him, from Galilee and Decapolis, from Jerusalem and Judea, and from the other side of Jordan.

And the men of that place recognized Him, and sent into all the countryside and brought to Him all who were sick, and they continued to beg Him to let them touch just the tassel on His coat, and all who barely touched it were completely cured.

When he came down from the mountain, great crowds followed Him. And a leper came up to Him, and prostrated himself before Him, and said, "Lord, if you choose to, you can cure me." Then He put out His hand and touched him, and said, "I do choose to; be cured." And at once his leprosy was cured. read more.
Then Jesus said to him, "See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and, to testify to the people, make the offering that Moses prescribed."

There came to Him a leper, begging Him on his knees, saying to Him, "If you want to, you can cure me." And His heart was moved with pity for him, so He stretched out His hand and touched him, and said, "I do want to! Be cured!" And the leprosy at once left him, and he was cured. read more.
But Jesus at once drove him out of their presence, and gave him this stringent charge: "See that you tell nobody a single word about it. Be gone, show yourself to the priest, and to prove it to the people, make the offering for your purification which Moses prescribed." But he went out and began to publish it so much and to spread the story so far, that Jesus could not any more go into any town openly, but had to stay out in thinly settled places. But the people kept coming to Him from every quarter.

Now while He was in one of the towns, a man covered with leprosy saw Jesus and fell on his face and begged Him, saying, "Lord, if you choose to, you can cure me." So He reached out His hand and touched him, saying, "I do choose to; be cured." And at once the leprosy left him. Then He warned him not to tell anybody, but rather He said, "Go, show yourself to the priest, and, to prove it to the people, make the offering for your purification, just as Moses prescribed." read more.
But the news about Him continued to spread, and great crowds were gathering to hear Him and to be cured of their diseases. But Jesus Himself continued His habit of retiring to lonely spots and praying.

And all at once some men were bringing to Him a paralyzed man, lying on a couch. And because He saw their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, "Cheer up, my child, your sins are forgiven."

Then four men came bringing to Him a paralyzed man.

Now some men were carrying on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they were trying to get him in and lay him before Jesus.

So when He got out of the boat and saw a great crowd, His heart was moved with pity for them, and He cured their sick people.

Then Jesus left there and went to the shore of the sea of Galilee. Then He went up the hill and kept sitting there, and great crowds came up to Him bringing with them the lame, the crippled, the blind, the deaf, and many others. They laid them at His feet, and He cured them, so that the crowd was astonished to see the dumb talking, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. So they praised the God of Israel.

And on leaving there He went into their synagogue. Now there was a man there with one hand withered. And, to get a charge against Him, they asked Him, "Is it right to cure people on the sabbath?" But He said to them, "What man is there among you, if he has only one sheep and it falls into a ditch on the sabbath, will not lay hold on it and lift it out? read more.
And how much more a man is worth than a sheep! So it is right to do good on the sabbath." Then He said to the man, "Hold out your hand." And he held it out, and it was cured so that it became like the other.

Then He went into a synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand. And they kept closely watching Him, to see whether He would cure him on the Sabbath, to get a charge to bring against Him. But He said to the man with the withered hand, "Get up in the crowd." read more.
Then He asked them, "Is it right to do people good on the Sabbath, or to do them evil, to save life or to take it?" But they had nothing to say. So Jesus looked around at them in anger, because He was pained over their stubbornness of mind, and said to the man, "Hold out your hand." And he held it out, and his hand was cured.

And the scribes and the Pharisees were closely watching Him to see whether He would cure him on the Sabbath, in order to get a charge against Him. But He knew what they were thinking, and He said to the man with the withered hand, "Get up and stand at the front." So he got up and stood there. read more.
Then Jesus said to them, "Is it right on the Sabbath to do people good, or to do them evil, to save life or to take it?" Then He glanced around at them all and said to him, "Put out your hand." And he did so, and his hand was at once completely restored. But they were filled with fury and began to discuss what they could do to Jesus.

And He got into a boat and crossed to the other side, and went into His home town. And all at once some men were bringing to Him a paralyzed man, lying on a couch. And because He saw their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, "Cheer up, my child, your sins are forgiven." Then some of the scribes said to themselves, "He is a blasphemer." read more.
And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said, "Why do you have such wicked thoughts in your hearts? For which is easier, to say 'Your sins are forgiven,' or, to say 'Get up and go to walking'? But to show you that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on earth" -- turning to the paralyzed man, He said to Him -- "Get up, pick up your bed, and go home." And he got up and went home. And the crowds saw it, and were stricken with awe, and gave praise to God for giving such power to men.

After some days He came back to Capernaum, and it was reported that He was at home, and so many people gathered there that there was no longer any room even around the door. He was telling them His message. Then four men came bringing to Him a paralyzed man. read more.
And as they could not get him near to Jesus, on account of the crowd, they dug through the roof over the spot where He was standing and let the pallet down that the paralyzed man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralyzed man, "My son, your sins are forgiven." Some scribes were sitting there arguing and saying to themselves, "Why is He talking this way? He is blaspheming. Who can forgive sins but God alone?" Now Jesus at once felt in His spirit that they were arguing about this, and said, "Why are you arguing to yourselves about this? Which is easier, to say to the paralyzed man, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say to him, 'Get up, pick up your pallet and start walking!" But to show you that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on earth," turning to the paralyzed man He said, "I tell you, get up, pick up your pallet, and go home." Then he got up and at once picked up his pallet, and went out before them all. The result was that they were all dumbfounded and began to praise God and say, "We have never seen anything like this before."

One day as He was teaching, there were some Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Him to cure people. Now some men were carrying on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they were trying to get him in and lay him before Jesus. And as they could not find a way because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down with his pallet through the tiles, among the people right in front of Jesus. read more.
When He saw their faith, He said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven." But the scribes and the Pharisees began to argue, saying, "Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" Jesus saw that they were arguing, and answered them: "Why are you arguing so in your hearts? Which is easier, to say 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say 'Get up and start walking'? But to show you that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on earth" -- turning to the man who was paralyzed, He said to him, "Get up, pick up your pallet, and go home." Then at once he got up before them all, picked up the pallet on which he had been lying, and went off home, giving praise to God. Then an overwhelming wonder seized them all and they began to give praise to God. They were filled with awe and continued to say, "We have seen unthinkable wonders today!"

And He left and went out of the city to Bethany, and spent the night there. Early next morning when He returned to the city, He felt hungry. As He saw a fig tree by the roadside, He came to it but found on it nothing but leaves, and said to it, "Never again shall a fig grow on you!" And the fig tree at once withered up. read more.
When the disciples saw it, they were dumbfounded, and asked, "How is it that the fig tree withered up all at once?" And Jesus answered them, "I solemnly say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt at all, you will not only do the sort of wonder done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Get up and throw yourself into the sea,' it will be done. And whatever you ask for in prayer, if you believe it, you will get it."

Next day, while they were walking over from Bethany, He felt hungry. Now in the distance He saw a fig tree covered with leaves, and He went up to it to see if He might find some figs on it, but when He got to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the time for figs. So He spoke to it and said, "Never again may anyone eat a fig from you!" And His disciples were listening to it.

In the morning as they were passing along, they noticed that the fig tree was withered, clear down to its roots. And Peter remembered about it, and said to Him, "Look, Teacher! The fig tree which you cursed has withered!" Then Jesus answered them, "Have faith in God! read more.
I solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Get up and throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt at all in his heart, but has faith that what he says will take place, shall have it. So then I tell you, whenever you pray and ask for anything, have faith that it has been granted you, and you will get it.

In spite of this, however, they stayed there a considerable time and continued to speak with courage from the Lord, who continued to bear testimony to His gracious message and kept on granting signs and wonders to be done by them.

He came to Jesus one night and said to Him, "Teacher, we know that you have come from God, for no one can perform the wonder-works that you are doing, unless God is with him."

By this he quieted the whole congregation, and they listened to Barnabas and Paul tell of the signs and wonders which God had done through them among the heathen.

God also continued to do such wonder-works through Paul

The marks that signify the genuine apostle were exhibited among you in my perfect patience, in signs, wonders, and wonder-works.

Then Jesus said to him, "Unless you see signs and wonders, you will never believe."

After He had gone into the house, and the blind men had gone up to Him, Jesus said to them, "Do you really believe that I can do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord."

He continued listening to Paul as he spoke, and as Paul by looking straight at him observed that he had faith that he would be cured,

and many a time it has thrown him into the fire or into the water, to destroy him. But if there is anything you can do for him, do pity us and help us!" Jesus said to him, "If there is anything I can do! Everything is possible for him who has faith!" The boy's father at once cried out and said, "I do have faith; help my lack of faith!"

If I had not done things among them that no one else has ever done, they would not be guilty of sin. But now the fact is, they have seen and even hated both my Father and me.

Then He began to censure the cities in which His many, many wonder-works had been done, because they did not repent. "A curse on you, Chorazin! A curse on you, Bethsaida! For if the wonder-works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, long ago they would have repented in sackcloth and ashes. Moreover, I tell you, on the day of judgment the punishment will be lighter for Tyre and Sidon than for you! read more.
And you, Capernaum, are you to be exalted to heaven? No, you belong to the regions of the dead! For if the wonder-works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have continued until today. But I tell you, on the day of judgment the punishment will be lighter for the land of Sodom than for you!"

Then the wild beast was captured and with him the false prophet who performed wonders in his presence, by which he led astray those who let the mark of the wild beast be put on them and worshiped his statue. Both of them were hurled alive into the fiery lake that burns with brimstone.

and with a completely wicked deception for men who are on the way to destruction, because they refused to love the truth so as to be saved. This is why God sends them a misleading influence till they actually believe what is false, so that all who have refused to believe the truth but have chosen unrighteousness instead might be condemned.

He leads the inhabitants of the earth astray because of the wonders he is permitted to perform in the presence of the wild beast, telling the inhabitants of the earth to erect a statue to the wild beast that bears the sword-thrust and yet has lived.

But if I by the Spirit of God am driving the demons out, then the kingdom of God has come to you.

by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Holy Spirit. So I have completed the telling of the good news of Christ all the way from Jerusalem around to Illyricum.

suddenly there was an earthquake so great that it shook the very foundations of the jail, the doors all flew open, and every prisoner's chains were unfastened.

But in the night the angel of the Lord threw open the jail doors and let them out, and said to them, "Go and take your stand in the temple square and continue to tell the people the message of this new life." So they obeyed, and about the break of day they went into the temple square and began to teach. The high priest and his party arrived and called a meeting of the council and the whole senate of the sons of Israel, and sent to the prison to have the men brought in. read more.
But the attendants who went for them could not find them in the jail, and so came back and reported, "We found the prison safely locked and the keepers on duty at the doors, but on opening the doors we found no one on the inside."

Now just as Herod was going to bring him out, that is, the very night before, Peter was fastened with two chains and was sleeping between two soldiers, and the guards were at the door guarding the prison. And suddenly an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in his cell, and by striking Peter on the side the angel woke him, and said, "Get up quickly!" At once the chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, "Tighten your belt and put on your shoes? He did so. Then the angel said to him, "Put on your coat and follow me!" read more.
So he kept following him out, but he was not conscious that what was being done by the angel was real; he thought he was dreaming it. They passed the first guard, then the second, and at last came to the iron gate which led into the city. The gate of itself opened to them, and they passed out and proceeded one block when all at once the angel left him. Then Peter came to himself and said, "Now I really know that the Lord has sent His angel and rescued me from the power of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting to do to me."

She kept this up for a number of days. Because Paul was so much annoyed by her, he turned and said to the spirit in her, "In the name of Jesus Christ I order you to come out of her." And that very moment it came out.

God also continued to do such wonder-works through Paul as an instrument that the people carried off to the sick, towels or aprons used by him, and at their touch they were cured of their diseases, and the evil spirits went out of them.

Publius' father chanced to be sick in bed with fever and dysentery, and Paul went to see him and after praying laid his hands upon him and cured him. Because this cure was performed, the rest of the sick people on the island kept coming to him and by degrees were cured.

Although He had performed so many wonder-works right before their eyes, they did not believe in Him,

Then they came to Jericho. And as He was leaving Jericho, with His disciples and a great crowd, Timeus' son, Bartimeus, a blind beggar, was sitting on the roadside.

As Jesus was passing along from there, two blind men followed Him, shouting, "Do pity us, O Son of David!"

And two blind men sitting by the roadside heard that Jesus was passing and cried out, "Do pity us, Lord, you Son of David!"

At that time some people brought to Him a man under the power of demons, who was blind and dumb, and He cured him, so that the dumb man could talk and see.

But at the very time they were going out, some people brought to Him a dumb man, who was under the power of a demon,

Now He was driving a dumb demon out of a man, and when the demon went out of him, the dumb man spoke. The crowds were astonished.

As the crowds continued to listen to his message and continued to see his wonder-works which he was performing, with one mind they became interested in what was said by Philip.

For I would venture to mention only what Christ has accomplished through me in bringing the heathen peoples to obedience, by word and by work, by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Holy Spirit. So I have completed the telling of the good news of Christ all the way from Jerusalem around to Illyricum.

On the contrary, a woman, whose little daughter had a foul spirit, at once heard about Him and came and flung herself at His feet.

And a Canaanite woman of that district came out and pleaded, saying, "Do pity me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is suffering horrors from a demon."

Elijah was a man with feelings just like ours, and yet he earnestly prayed for it not to rain, and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.

Then they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept on working with them and confirming their message by the signs that attended it.

Now while He was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people, because they saw the wonder-works which He was performing, trusted in Him as the Christ.

Now there are many other wonder-works which Jesus performed in the disciples' presence which are not recorded in this book. But these have been recorded, in order that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that through believing you may have life, as bearers of His name.

Then Jesus left there and slipped away to the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon. And a Canaanite woman of that district came out and pleaded, saying, "Do pity me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is suffering horrors from a demon." But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came up and kept begging Him, "Send her away, for she keeps on screaming after us." read more.
But He answered, "I have been sent only to the lost sheep of Israel's house." But she came and bowed to Him, and kept praying, "Lord, help me!" He answered, "It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the house dogs." She said, "Yes, Lord, and yet the house dogs usually eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table." Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, wonderful is your faith! You must have what you want." And her daughter was cured at that very moment.

Then He left there and went into the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon. He went into a house and wanted no one to know that He was there. But He could not escape public notice. On the contrary, a woman, whose little daughter had a foul spirit, at once heard about Him and came and flung herself at His feet. She was a heathen who spoke Greek and had been born in Syro-Phenicia. And she kept begging Him to drive the demon out of her daughter. read more.
But He was saying to her, "Let the children first eat all they want, for it is not right to take the children's bread and throw it out to the house dogs." But she answered Him, "Yes, Lord, and yet the house dogs under the table usually eat the crumbs the children drop." Then He said to her, "Because you have said this, go home; the demon has gone out of your daughter." She went home and found her daughter lying in bed, and the demon gone out.

Then Jesus called His disciples to Him, and said, "My heart is moved with pity for the crowd, for it is now three days they have been staying with me, and they have nothing at all left to eat, and I fear they might give out on the way home."

And they ate and had plenty. And they took up the pieces left over, which made seven hamper-basketfuls.

And the following signs will attend those who believe: By using my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in foreign languages;

It is His name, that is, on condition of faith in His name, that has made strong again this man whom you see and recognize -- yes, faith inspired by Him has given this man the perfect health you all see.

by stretching out your hand to cure people and to perform signs and wonders by the authority of your holy Servant Jesus."

Then they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept on working with them and confirming their message by the signs that attended it.

while God continued to confirm their testimony with signs, marvels, and various sorts of wonder-works, and with gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed in accordance with His will.

And He appointed the Twelve, to whom He gave the title, apostles, to be with Him, to send them forth to preach, and to have the right to drive out the demons.

And the following signs will attend those who believe: By using my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in foreign languages; they will take snakes in their hands; even if they drink anything poisonous, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well."

Then they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept on working with them and confirming their message by the signs that attended it.

Just at that moment there was a man in their synagogue who was under the spell of a foul spirit, and so he screamed, "What do you want of us, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, God's Holy One!" Jesus reproved him, saying, "Hush up, get out of him!" read more.
Then the foul spirit convulsed him and with a deafening shriek got out of him.

Now there was a man in the synagogue who was under the power of the spirit of a foul demon, and he screamed with a loud voice, "Ha! What do you want of us, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are. You are God's Holy One." But Jesus reproved him, saying "Be quiet! Get out of him at once!" So the demon threw the man down in the midst of them and came out of him without doing him any harm. read more.
Amazement then seized them all and they continued to talk it over among themselves, and to say, "What does this message mean? For with authority and power He gives orders to foul spirits, and they come out."

Now the birth of Christ Jesus occurred under these conditions: After His mother, Mary, was engaged to Joseph, but before they had lived together, she was found to be an expectant mother through the influence of the Holy Spirit. But her husband, Joseph, because he was an upright man and did not want to disgrace her, decided to break the engagement by secretly divorcing her. But just as this thought occurred to him, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, and said, "Joseph, descendant of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for it is through the influence of the Holy Spirit that she has become an expectant mother. read more.
And she will have a son, and you must name Him Jesus, for it is He who is to save His people from their sins." Now all this occurred to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "The virgin will become pregnant and have a son, and they will call Him Immanuel" -- which means "God with us." So when Joseph awoke from his sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord directed him, and took her as his wife; but he did not live with her as a husband until she had had a son; and he named Him Jesus.

Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin there engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. So the angel came to her home and said, "Congratulations, you highly favored woman! The Lord be with you!" read more.
But she was agitated at what he said, and began to ponder what this greeting meant. Then the angel said, "Stop being afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Listen! You will become pregnant and bear a son, and you must name Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His forefather David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His reign will have no end." But Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I have no husband?" Then the angel answered her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you, and so your child will be called holy, the Son of God. And listen! your relative, Elizabeth, has herself too become pregnant, although she is old, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. For nothing is ever impossible for God." Then Mary said, "I am the Lord's slave. May what you say take place with me." Then the angel left her. Now in those days Mary got up and hurried off to the hill country, to a town in Judah, and she went to Zechariah's home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped within her. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and with a loud shout she said: "Blessed are you among women, And blessed is your child! Why is this privilege mine, to have the mother of my Lord come to me? For as soon as your greeting reached my ears, the baby leaped for joy within me! Blessed is she who has believed, for what is promised to her by the Lord will be fulfilled." Then Mary said: "My soul extols the Lord; my spirit exults in God my Saviour; for He has smiled upon His slave in her lowly station, for from this day all ages will count me happy! For the Almighty has done wonders for me, and holy is His name! He shows His mercy from age to age to those who fear him. He has done mighty deeds with His arm. He has scattered those that are proud in the purpose of their hearts. He has dethroned monarchs and exalted the poor. He has satisfied the hungry with good things and sent the rich away with empty hands. He has helped His servant Israel, so as to remember mercy, as He promised our forefathers, Abraham and his descendants forever." Now Mary stayed with her about three months, and then returned home. So it was time for Elizabeth to bear a child, and she bore a son. And her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and so they were rejoicing with her. On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they tried to name him Zechariah, after his father. But his mother said, "Never! But he must be named John." Then they said to her, "There is no one among your relatives that bears that name." So they began to make signs to his father to find out what he might wish him to be named. Then he asked for a writing-tablet, and wrote, "His name is John." And they were all astonished. Then the use of his voice and tongue was at once restored,: and he began to speak, and continued to praise God. And all the neighbors were overwhelmed with awe, and all over the hill country of Judea these things were being talked, and all who heard them kept them in their hearts, and said, "What then is this child to be?" for the hand of the Lord was with him. Now his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit, and he uttered the following prophecy: "Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, for He has come and brought His people deliverance; and He has made a mighty Saviour for us in the house of His servant David, "as He promised by the lips of His ancient prophets, deliverance from our foes and from the hands of all who hate us, to show mercy to our forefathers, and carry out His sacred covenant, the oath which He swore to our forefather Abraham, to grant us deliverance from the dreaded hand of our foes, so that we could serve Him in holiness and uprightness In His own presence all our days. And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to make ready His ways, to give His people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins. Because the heart of our God is merciful. And so the day will dawn upon us from on high, to shine on those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace." Now the child continued to grow and to gain strength in the Spirit, and he lived in the desert until the day when he announced himself to Israel.

She kept this up for a number of days. Because Paul was so much annoyed by her, he turned and said to the spirit in her, "In the name of Jesus Christ I order you to come out of her." And that very moment it came out.

God also continued to do such wonder-works through Paul

Then Jesus called His disciples to Him, and said, "My heart is moved with pity for the crowd, for it is now three days they have been staying with me, and they have nothing at all left to eat, and I fear they might give out on the way home." The disciples said to Him, "Where in this destitute place can we get bread enough to satisfy such a crowd?" Then Jesus asked them, "How many loaves have you on hand?" They answered, "Seven and a few small fish." read more.
Then He ordered the crowd to sit down on the ground, and He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks; then He broke them in pieces, and kept giving the pieces to the disciples, and they to the crowds. And they all ate and had aplenty, and they took up the pieces left over, which made seven hamper-basketfuls. Those fed numbered four thousand men, besides women and children. Then He sent the crowds away, got into the boat, and went to the district of Magadan.

In those days when a great crowd again had gathered and they had nothing to eat, He called His disciples to Him, and said, "My heart goes out in pity for these people, for they have been staying with me three days now, and they have nothing left to eat. And if I send them home hungry, they will give out on the road, for some of them are a long way from home." read more.

So the high priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the council, and began to say, "What are we to do? For this man is certainly performing many wonder-works.

and repeated, "What shall we do with these men? For it is evident to everybody living in Jerusalem that an unmistakable wonder-work has been done by them; and we cannot deny it.

When He got back to Capernaum, a Roman military captain came up to Him and kept begging Him,

There was a Roman captain who had a slave that was very dear to him, and he was sick and at the point of death,

[He is not here but has risen.] Remember what He told you while He was still in Galilee, when

No one has taken it from me, but I am giving it as a free gift. I have the right to give it and I have the right to take it back. I have gotten this order from my Father."

In spite of this, however, they stayed there a considerable time and continued to speak with courage from the Lord, who continued to bear testimony to His gracious message and kept on granting signs and wonders to be done by them.

God also continued to do such wonder-works through Paul

When He had finished all these sayings in the hearing of the people, He went into Capernaum. There was a Roman captain who had a slave that was very dear to him, and he was sick and at the point of death, When the captain heard about Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders to Him, to ask Him to come and bring his slave safe through the illness. read more.
So they went to Jesus and continued to urge Him earnestly, saying, "He deserves that you do this for him, for he loves our nation, and he is the man who built us our synagogue." Then Jesus started to go with them. But when He was not far from the house, the captain sent friends to say to Him, "My Lord, stop troubling yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. And so I did not deem myself worthy even to come to you. But simply speak the word, and let my servant-boy be cured. For I too am under authority of others, and have soldiers under me, and I order one to go, and he goes, another to come, and he comes, my slave to do this, and he does it." When Jesus heard this, He was astounded at him, and turning to the crowd that was following Him He said, "I tell you, I have not found, in a single case among the Jews, so great faith as this!" Then the messengers returned to the house and found the slave well.

When He got back to Capernaum, a Roman military captain came up to Him and kept begging Him, "Lord, my servant-boy is at home bedridden with paralysis and suffering terrible tortures!" He said to him, "I will come and cure him." read more.
But the captain answered, "I am not fit for you to come under my roof, but simply speak the word, and my servant-boy will be cured. For I, too, am under authority of others, and have soldiers under me, and I order this one to go, and he goes, another to come, and he comes, my slave-boy to do this, and he does it." When Jesus heard it, He was astounded, and said to His followers, "I solemnly say to you, I have not found, in a single case among the Jews, so great faith as this. I tell you, many will come from the east and from the west and take their seats at the feast with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, 'in the kingdom of heaven, while the heirs of the kingdom will be turned out into the darkness outside, where they will be weeping and grinding their teeth." Then Jesus said to the captain, "Go; it must be done for you as you have believed." And his servant-boy was cured that very hour.

and yet Elijah was not sent to a single one of them except to a widow at Zarephath in Sidon.

Then the foul spirit convulsed him and with a deafening shriek got out of him.

But Jesus reproved him, saying "Be quiet! Get out of him at once!" So the demon threw the man down in the midst of them and came out of him without doing him any harm.

Jesus performed this, the first of His wonder-works, at Cana in Galilee. By it He showed His glorious power, and so His disciples believed in Him.

When Jesus received the message, He said, "This sickness is not to end in death but is to honor God, that the Son of God through it may be honored."

She instantly fell dead at his feet. When the young men came in, they found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband.

When Ananias heard these words, he fell dead, and a strange awe seized everybody who heard it.

Do not let anybody at all deceive you about this, because that cannot take place until the great revolt occurs and the representative of lawlessness is uncovered, the one who is doomed to destruction,

that is, the representative of lawlessness, whose coming is in accordance with the working of Satan, with his plenitude of power and pretended signs and wonders,

He performs great wonders; even makes fire come down out of heaven to earth before men's eyes.

To each of us is given a special spiritual illumination for the common good.

So, as you are ambitious for spiritual gifts, you must keep trying to excel for the upbuilding of the church. Therefore, the man who speaks in ecstasy must pray for power to explain what he says.

I most solemnly say to you, whoever perseveres in believing in me can himself do the things that I am doing; yes, he can do even greater things than I am doing, because I am going to the Father.

Jesus said, "Do not try to stop him, for there is no one who will use my name to do a mighty deed, and then be able soon to abuse me.

Then the wild beast was captured and with him the false prophet who performed wonders in his presence, by which he led astray those who let the mark of the wild beast be put on them and worshiped his statue. Both of them were hurled alive into the fiery lake that burns with brimstone.

for false Christs and false prophets will announce themselves, and they will show great signs and wonders to mislead, if possible, God's chosen people.

Stop neglecting the gift you received, which was given you through prophetic utterance when the elders laid their hands upon you.

For this reason I now remind you to rekindle and keep burning the fire of the divine gift which came upon you when I laid my hands upon you.

that is, the representative of lawlessness, whose coming is in accordance with the working of Satan, with his plenitude of power and pretended signs and wonders,

They are the spirits of demons that perform wonders, and they go forth to the kings of the whole world, to muster them for battle on the great day of the Almighty God.

and when Paul laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they began to speak in foreign tongues and to prophesy.

Then they laid their hands upon them, and one by one they received the Holy Spirit. So when Simon saw that the Holy Spirit was conferred by the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money,

But you must earnestly continue to cultivate your higher spiritual gifts. And yet I will show you a way that is better by far:

Keep on pursuing love, but still keep cultivating your spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophesying.

And God has placed people in the church, first as apostles, second as prophets, third as teachers, then wonder-workers; then people with power to cure the sick, helpers, managers, ecstatic speakers.

To one, wise speech is given by the Spirit; to another, by the same Spirit, intelligent speech is given; to another, through union with the same Spirit, faith; to another, by one and the same Spirit, power to cure the sick; to another, power for working wonders; to another, prophetic insight; to another, the power to discriminate between the true Spirit and false spirits; to another, various ecstatic utterances; and to another, the power to explain them.

As he traveled on he finally approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He dropped to the ground; then he heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" He asked, "Who are you, sir?" And He said, "I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. read more.
But get up and go into the city, and there it will be told you what you ought to do."

So Ananias left and went to that house, and there he laid his hands upon Saul, and said, "Saul, my. brother, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road on which you were coming here, has sent me that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit." And all at once something like scales fell from his eyes, he regained his sight, got up and was baptized,

Now when John in prison heard of the doings of the Christ, he sent this message by his disciples: "Are you the One who was to come, or should we keep on looking for a different one?"

Then Zechariah said to the angel, "How shall I know that this is so? For I am an old man, and my wife is far advanced in years."

So after this his wife Elizabeth became pregnant, and she kept herself in seclusion for five months, saying, "This is what the Lord has done for me when He smiled upon me to take away my disgrace among men."

As He saw a fig tree by the roadside, He came to it but found on it nothing but leaves, and said to it, "Never again shall a fig grow on you!" And the fig tree at once withered up.

When they reached Capernaum, the collectors of the temple tax came to Peter and asked, "Does your Teacher pay the temple tax?"

Then He called His twelve disciples to Him, and gave them authority over foul spirits, so that they could drive them out, and so that they could cure any disease or ailment.

Now a man was sick; it was Lazarus who lived in Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. It was the Mary who poured the perfume upon the Lord and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. So the sisters sent this message to Jesus, "Lord, listen! the one you love so well is sick." read more.

Jesus answered, "Does not the day have twelve hours? If a man travels in the daytime, he does not stumble, for he can see the light of this world; but if he travels in the nighttime, he does stumble, because he has no light." He said this, and after that He added, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going there to wake him." The disciples said to Him, "Lord, if he has merely fallen asleep, he will recover." But Jesus had spoken about his death. However, they supposed that He was referring to falling into a natural sleep. So Jesus then told them plainly: "Lazarus is dead, and I am glad for your sake that I was not there so that you may come to have real faith in me. But let us go to him." Then Thomas the Twin said to his fellow-disciples, "Let us go too, and die with Him." When Jesus reached there, He found that Lazarus had been buried for four days. Now Bethany is only about two miles from Jerusalem, and a goodly number of Jews had come out to see Martha and Mary, to sympathize with them over their brother. When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet Him, but Mary stayed at home. Then Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever you ask God for He will give you." Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again." Martha said to Him, "I know that he will rise at the resurrection, on the last day." Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life myself. Whoever continues to believe in me will live right on even though he dies, and no person who continues to live and believe in me will ever die at all. Do you believe this?" She said to Him, "Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world." On saying this she went back and called her sister Mary, whispering to her, "The Teacher is here and is asking for you." As soon as she heard it, she jumped up and started to Jesus, for He had not yet come into the village, but He was still at the place where Martha had met Him. So the Jews who were with her in the house sympathizing with her, when they saw Mary jump up and go out, followed her, because they supposed that she was going to the grave to pour out her grief there. When Mary came where Jesus was and saw Him, she threw herself at His feet, and said, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died." So when Jesus saw her weeping and the Jews who had come with her weeping too, He sighed in sympathy and shook with emotion, and asked, "Where have you laid him?" They answered, "Lord, come and see." Jesus burst into tears. So the Jews said, "See how tenderly He loved him!" But some of them said, "Could not this man, who made that blind man see, have kept Lazarus from dying?" Now Jesus sighed again and continued to sigh as He went to the grave. It was a cave with a stone lying over the mouth of it. Jesus said, "Slip the stone aside." The dead man's sister, Martha, said to Him, "Lord, by this time he is offensive, for he has been dead four days." Jesus said to her, "Did I not promise you that if you would believe in me, you should see the glory of God?" So they slipped the stone aside. And Jesus looked up and said, "Father, I thank you for listening to me; yes, I knew that you always listen to me. But I have said this for the sake of the crowd that is standing by, that they may come to believe that you have sent me." On saying this, He shouted aloud, "Lazarus, come out!" Then out came the dead man, his feet and hands tied with wrappings, and his face tied up with a handkerchief. Jesus said to them, "Untie him and let him go."

As the crowds continued to listen to his message and continued to see his wonder-works which he was performing, with one mind they became interested in what was said by Philip. For many of those under the power of foul spirits cried out and the spirits came out of them, and many paralyzed and crippled people were cured. So there was great rejoicing in that city. read more.
There was a man named Simon in the city, who had kept the Samaritan people thrilled by practicing magic there and by claiming to be a great man. Everybody, high and low, kept running after him, saying, "He is certainly what is known as the Great Power of God!" They kept running after him, because for a long time he had thrilled them with his magical performances. But when the people came to believe the good news proclaimed by Philip about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were constantly baptized. So Simon himself came to believe too, and after he was baptized he continued to be devoted to Philip, and he was always thrilled at seeing such great signs and wonder-works continuously performed.

While Peter was still speaking these truths, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the message. Then the Jewish believers who had gone along with Peter were astounded because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been showered upon the heathen too, for they heard them speaking in foreign languages and telling of the greatness of God. Then Peter asked,

As He was going on to Jerusalem, He chanced to pass through Samaria and Galilee. And as He was going into one village, ten lepers met Him, who got up at some distance from Him, and raised their voices and said, "Jesus, Master, do take pity on us!" read more.
So as soon as He saw them, He said to them, "Go at once and show yourselves to the priests." And while they were going they were cured. But one of them, when he saw that he was cured, came back, praising God with a loud voice, and fell on his face at Jesus' feet, and continued to thank Him. Now he was a Samaritan. And Jesus said, "Were not ten cured? Where are the other nine? Were none found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" Then He said to him, "Get up and go on your way. Your faith has cured you."

When they reached Capernaum, the collectors of the temple tax came to Peter and asked, "Does your Teacher pay the temple tax?" He answered, "Yes." When Jesus reached home -- He got there ahead of Simon -- He asked him, "What do you think about it, Simon? From whom do civil rulers collect duties or taxes, from their own citizens or from aliens?" He answered, "From aliens." Jesus said to him, "So their own citizens are exempt, read more.
but still, that we may not influence them to do anything wrong, go down to the sea and throw over a hook. Pull in the first fish that bites, open its mouth and you will find in it a dollar. Take it and pay the tax for both of us."

One Sabbath He was teaching in one of the synagogues, and there was a woman there who for eighteen years had had a disease caused by a spirit. She was bent double and could not straighten herself up at all. As soon as Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, "Woman, you are freed from your disease!" read more.
Then He laid His hands on her, and at once she straightened herself up and burst into praising God. But the leader of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had cured her on the Sabbath, answered the crowd, "There are six days on which people must work; so come on these and be cured, but not on the Sabbath." Then the Lord answered him, "You hypocrites! Does not everyone of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or donkey and lead him out of the stable to water him? And so was it not right for this woman, a descendant of Abraham, whom Satan has for eighteen years kept bound, to be freed from this bond on the Sabbath?" Even while He was saying this, His opponents were blushing with shame, but all the people were rejoicing over all the glorious things that were being done by Him.

So He came back to Cana in Galilee where He had turned the water into wine. Now there was at Capernaum an officer of the king's court whose son was sick. When he heard that Jesus had come back from Judea to Galilee, he went to Him and began to beg Him to come down and cure his son, for he was at the point of death. Then Jesus said to him, "Unless you see signs and wonders, you will never believe." read more.
The king's officer pleaded with Him, "Sir, come down at once before my child is dead!" Jesus said to him, "You may go; your son is going to live." The man believed what Jesus said to him and started home. While he was still coming down, his slaves met him and told him, "Your boy is going to live." So he asked them at what hour he began to get better, and they said to him, "Yesterday at one o'clock the fever left him." Then the father knew that that was the very hour when Jesus had said to him, "Your son is going to live." So he and his whole household believed in Jesus. This is the second wonder-work that Jesus performed after He had come back from Judea to Galilee.

Now the seventy returned and joyously reported, "Lord, even the demons are submitting to us in your name." He said to them, "I was looking at Satan failing like a flash of lightning from heaven. Listen! I have given you power to tread on snakes and scorpions, and to trample on all the power of the enemy, and nothing at all will ever harm you. read more.
However, you must stop rejoicing over the fact that the spirits are submitting to you, but continue to rejoice that your names are enrolled in heaven."

There are varieties of gifts, but the Spirit is the same in all; there are varieties of service, but the Lord to be served is the same; there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who does all things by putting energy in us all.

Soon afterwards He chanced to go to a town called Nain, and His disciples and a great throng of people were going along with Him. As He approached the gate of the town, look, there was being carried out a dead man, his mother's only son, and she was a widow! A considerable crowd of townspeople were with her. Now when the Lord saw her, His heart was moved with pity for her, and so He said to her, "Stop weeping." read more.
Then He went up and touched the hearse and the bearers stopped; and He said, "Young man, I tell you, arise." Then the dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. So awe seized them all, and they began to praise God, saying, "A great prophet has appeared among us!" and, "God has visited His people!"

As Jesus was passing along from there, two blind men followed Him, shouting, "Do pity us, O Son of David!" After He had gone into the house, and the blind men had gone up to Him, Jesus said to them, "Do you really believe that I can do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." Then He touched their eyes, and said, "In accordance with your faith it must be done for you." read more.
And their eyes received strength to see. Then Jesus sternly charged them, "See that nobody knows it." But they went out and spread the news about Him all over that country.

After this there was a feast of the Jews, and so Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now in Jerusalem near the sheep-gate there is a pool called in Hebrew Bethzatha, which has five porticoes, and in these there used to lie a great crowd of sick people, blind, crippled, paralyzed. read more.

Jesus saw him lying there, and when He found out that he had been in that condition for a long time, He asked him, "Do you want to get well?" The sick man answered, "Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is moved, but while I am trying to get down, somebody else steps down ahead of me." Jesus said to him, "Get up, pick up your pallet, and go to walking." And at once the man was well, and picked up his pallet, and went to walking. Now it was the Sabbath. So the Jews began to say to the man who had been cured, "It is the Sabbath, and it is against the law for you to carry your pallet." He answered them, "The man who cured me said to me, 'Pick up your pallet and go to walking.'" They asked him, "Who is the man that said to you, 'Pick up your pallet and go to walking'?" The man who had been cured did not know who He was, for since there was a crowd at the place, Jesus had slipped away. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple court, and said to him, "See! You are now well. Stop sinning or something worse may befall you." The man went back and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had cured him. This is why the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because He persisted in doing such things on the Sabbath.

He left the neighborhood of Tyre and went by way of Sidon through the district of the Ten Cities down to the Sea of Galilee. And they brought to Him a man who was deaf and almost dumb, and they begged Him to lay His hand upon him. So He took him off from the crowd by himself and put His fingers in his ears and touched his tongue with saliva. read more.
Then He looked up to heaven and sighed, as He said, "Ephphatha," which means, "Be opened." And his ears were opened and his tongue was untied, and he began to speak distinctly. Then He charged them not to tell anybody about it, but the more He kept charging them, the more they kept spreading the news. So the people were overwhelmingly dumbfounded, and kept saying, "How wonderfully He has done everything! He even makes deaf people hear and dumb people talk."

Two days later there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and Jesus' mother was there. Jesus and His disciples, too, were invited to the wedding. When the wine was all gone, Jesus' mother said to Him, "They have no wine!" read more.
Jesus said to her, "Woman, what have you to do with me? My time to act has not yet come." His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever He tells you." Now in accordance with the custom of purification practiced by the Jews, six stone water jars were standing there, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus said to them, "Fill these jars with water." So they filled them up to the brim. Then He said to them, "Now draw some out and take it to the manager of the feast." So they took him some. As soon as the manager tasted the water just turned into wine, without knowing where it came from, although the servants who had drawn the water did know, he called the bridegroom and said to him, "Everybody, as a rule, serves his good wine first, and his poorer wine after people have drunk freely; you have kept the good wine till now." Jesus performed this, the first of His wonder-works, at Cana in Galilee. By it He showed His glorious power, and so His disciples believed in Him.

Then they came to Bethsaida. And they brought a blind man to Him and begged Him to touch him. He took him by the hand and led him outside the village, then spit in his eyes, laid His hands upon him, and asked him, "Do you see anything?" He looked up and answered, "I see the people, but they look to me like trees moving around." read more.
Then He laid His hands upon his eyes again, and he looked the best he could and was cured, and saw everything distinctly. So He sent him home with the warning, "Do not ever go into the village."

so that they kept bringing out into the streets their sick ones and putting them on little couches or pallets, that at least the shadow of Peter, as he went by, might fall on some of them. Even from the towns around Jerusalem crowds continued coming in to bring their sick ones and those troubled with foul spirits, and they were all cured.

and a young man named Eutychus, who was sitting by the window, was gradually overcome by heavy drowsiness, as Paul kept speaking longer and longer, and at last he went fast asleep and fell from the third story to the ground and was picked up dead. But Paul went down and fell on him and embraced him, and said, "Stop being alarmed, his life is still in him." So he went back upstairs, and broke the bread and ate with them, and after talking with them extendedly, even till daylight, he left them. read more.
Then they took the boy home alive, and were greatly comforted.

After they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, "Wake up! Tenderly take the child and His mother, and escape to Egypt; stay there until I further direct you, for Herod is going to search for the child to destroy Him." Then he awoke and tenderly took the child and His mother by night and made their escape to Egypt; he stayed there until Herod's death, so as to fulfill what the Lord had said by the prophet, "Out of Egypt I called my Son." read more.
Then Herod, because he saw that a trick had been played on him by the stargazers, was very angry, and sent and slaughtered all the boy babies in Bethlehem and in all that neighborhood, from two years down, in accordance with the time which he had found out from the stargazers. Then the saying was fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet Jeremiah: "A sob was heard in Ramah, weeping and great wailing, Rachel weeping for her children, and she refused to be comforted, because they were gone." But after Herod died, an angel of the Lord in a dream appeared to Joseph in Egypt, and said, "Wake up, tenderly take the child and His mother, and make the trip to the land of Israel, for those who sought the child's life are dead." Then he awoke, tenderly took the child and His mother, and made the trip to the land of Israel. But because he heard that Archelaus was ruling over Judea in the place of his father, Herod, he was afraid to go there; and because he was divinely warned in a dream, he set out for the region of Galilee. He went to a town called Nazareth and made his home there, so that the saying of the prophet was fulfilled: "He shall be called a Nazarene."

and there was a woman there who for eighteen years had had a disease caused by a spirit. She was bent double and could not straighten herself up at all.

But Jesus said, "Permit me to go as far as this!" So He touched his ear and healed him.

And as He was going into one village, ten lepers met Him, who got up at some distance from Him,

Right now the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you will be so blind that you cannot see the sun for a time." And suddenly a dark mist fell upon him, and he kept groping about begging people to lead him by the hand.

But Paul went down and fell on him and embraced him, and said, "Stop being alarmed, his life is still in him."

he shouted aloud to him, "Get on your feet and stand erect!" Then up he leaped and began to walk.

Then he answered, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced, even if someone rises from the dead.'"

One Sabbath, when He went to take a meal at the house of a Pharisee who was a member of the council, they continued to watch Him closely. Just in front of Him was a man who was suffering from dropsy. He answered the experts in the law and the Pharisees by asking, "Is it right to cure people on the Sabbath or not?" read more.
But they made no answer. So He took hold of the man and cured him and sent him away. Then He said to them, "Which of you, if his son or ox falls into a well, will not at once pull him out on the Sabbath?" But they could make no reply to this.

Once as the crowd was pressing against Him to hear the message of God, He found Himself standing on the shore of Lake Gennesaret. Then He saw two boats lying up on the shore of the lake, but the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets. So He got into one of the boats, which belonged to Simon, and asked him to push out a little from the shore. Then He sat down and continued to teach the crowds from the boat. read more.
When He stopped speaking, He said to Simon, "Push out into deep water, and set your nets for a haul." Simon answered, "We have toiled all night and caught nothing, but since you tell me to do so, I will set the nets again." They did so and caught so vast a shoal of fish that their nets began to break. So they beckoned to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' feet and said, "Leave me, Lord, because I am a sinful man." For at the haul of fish that they had made, bewildering amazement had seized him and all his men, as well as James and John, Zebedee's sons, who were Simon's partners. Then Jesus said to Simon, "Stop being afraid; from now on you will be catching men." So after they had brought the boats to land, they left everything and followed Him.

when a man crippled from his birth was being carried by, who used to be laid every day at what was called The Beautiful Gate of the temple, to beg from people on their way into the temple. So when he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked them to give him something. Peter looked him straight in the eye, and so did John, and said, "Look at us." read more.
The beggar looked at them, supposing that he was going to get something from them. But Peter said, "No silver or gold have I, but what I do have I will give you. In the name of Jesus of Nazareth start walking." Then he took him by the right hand and lifted him, and his feet and ankles instantly grew strong, and at once he leaped to his feet and started walking; then he went into the temple with them, walking, leaping, and praising God. When all the people saw him walking about and praising God, and recognized him as the very man who used to sit at The Beautiful Gate of the temple to beg, they were completely astounded and bewildered at what occurred to him. While he was still clinging to Peter and John, all the people in utter amazement crowded around them in what was called Solomon's portico.

She instantly fell dead at his feet. When the young men came in, they found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband.

When Ananias heard these words, he fell dead, and a strange awe seized everybody who heard it.
