we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no God but one. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or on earth, (as there are many gods and many lords) Yet to us there is but one God, the Father from whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

One God, and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in all.

For there is one God, one mediator also between God and men,

All things were made by him, and without him was not one single thing made that was made.

We also are men of like passions with you, and preach to you, to turn from these vanities unto the living God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all things that are therein: Who, in times past, suffered all nations to walk in their own ways:

For through him were created all things, that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible; whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers; all things were created by him and for him.

saying, Worthy art thou, O Lord our God, to receive the glory, and the honour, and the power, for thou hast created all things, and through thy will they are, and were created.

Now to the king of eternity, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory for ever and ever, Amen.
