Jehovah said: Shall I hide what I am doing from Abraham?

If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and all that it contains are mine.

Yet this is what you concealed in your heart, and I know that this was in your mind:

I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as God Almighty, but by my name, Jehovah, I did not make myself known to them.

Samuel had no experience with Jehovah, because the word of Jehovah had not yet been revealed to him.

To make all men see what is the administration of the secret which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things.

His brightness is like the sun. He has rays of power coming from his hand! There was protection in his power.

That which was spoken through the prophet was fulfilled, saying: I will open my mouth in illustrations. I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.

They did not understand what he said. The meaning was concealed from them. They could not comprehend it. And they were afraid to ask him about it.

It was not made known to other generations of the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit.

What did Jehovah tell you? He asked. Please do not hide it from me. May God strike you dead if you hide anything he told you from me.

If our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who perish.

He said: If you only knew today the things needed to bring peace! But they are hidden from your eyes.

It is hidden from the eyes of all the living, concealed from the birds in the air.

I am a stranger in the earth. Do not hide your commandments from me.
