Believe me, I am in the Father and the Father is in me: ??or else, believe because of the deeds themselves.
Indeed the Son of man must be lifted on high, just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. For God loved the world so dearly that he gave up his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life, instead of perishing.
On those who have accepted him, however, he has conferred the right of being children of God, that is, on those who believe in his Name, who owe this birth of theirs to God, not to human blood, nor to any impulse of the flesh or of man.

but these Signs are recorded so that you may believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and believing may have life through his Name.
So you must understand, my brothers, that remission of sins is proclaimed to you through him, and that by him everyone who believes is absolved from all that the law of Moses never could absolve you from.

So repent of this wickedness of yours, and ask God whether you cannot be forgiven for your heart's purpose.

Well, if I have washed your feet, I who am your Lord and Teacher, you are bound to wash one another's feet; for I have been setting you an example, that you should do what I have done to you.
Treat one another with the same spirit as you experience in Christ Jesus.
It is your vocation; for when Christ suffered for you, he left you an example, and you must follow his footsteps.
He who possesses my commands and obeys them is he who loves me, and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and appear to him."
If you keep my commands you will remain within my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain within his love.
This is how we may be sure we know him, by obeying his commands. He who says, 'I know him,' but does not obey his commands, is a liar and the truth is not in him; but whoever obeys his word, in him love to God is really complete. This is how we may be sure we are in him:read more.
he who says he 'remains in him' ought to live as he lived.
If our heart does not condemn us, beloved, then we have confidence in approaching God, and we get from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commands and do what is pleasing in his sight. Now this is what he commands, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another as he has commanded us to do;read more.
he who obeys his commands remains within him ??and He remains within him. And this is how we may be sure he remains within us, by means of the Spirit he has given us.

For on behalf of Christ you have the favour of suffering no less than of believing in him,
Now you have followed my teaching, my practice, my aims, my faith, my patience, my love, my stedfastness, my persecutions, my sufferings ??all that befell me at Antioch, Iconium and Lystra, all the persecutions I had to undergo, from which the Lord rescued me. Even supposing you have to suffer for the sake of what is right, still you are blessed. Have no fear of their threats, do not let that trouble you,
Beloved, do not be surprised at the ordeal that has come to test you, as though some foreign experience befell you. You are sharing what Christ suffered; so rejoice in it, that you may also rejoice and exult when his glory is revealed. If you are denounced for the sake of Christ, you are blessed; for then the Spirit of glory and power, the Spirit of God himself, is resting on you.read more.
None of you must suffer as a murderer or a thief or a bad character or a revolutionary; but if a man suffers for being a Christian, he must not be ashamed, he must rather glorify God for that. It is time for the Judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the fate of those who refuse obedience to God's gospel? If the just man is scarcely saved, what will become of the impious and sinful? So let those who are suffering by the will of God trust their souls to him, their faithful Creator, as they continue to do right.
