But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said to them, Men of Judea, and all that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known to you, and hearken to my words.

Then Paul stood up, and beckoned with his hand and said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, hearken.

Be it therefore known to you, that to the gentiles this salvation of God hath been sent; they, moreover, will hear.

While he was yet speaking, lo! a bright cloud overshadowed them; and lo! a voice out of the cloud, saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; hear him."

All those who came are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not hear them.

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.

And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.

Hearken, my beloved brethren. Did not God choose the poor as to the world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him?

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.

But he said, Blessed rather are they that hear the word of God and keep it.

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if any one is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a glass; for he beholds himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what manner of man he was.

Every one then that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened to a wise man, who built his house upon a rock; and the rain descended, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not; for it was founded upon a rock. Every one that cometh to me and heareth my sayings and doeth them, I will show you whom he is like. He is like a man building a house, who dug deep, and laid its foundation on a rock; and when a flood arose, the stream dashed against that house, and could not shake it; because it was well built. But he that heareth and doeth not, is like a man that built a house upon the earth without a foundation; against which the stream dashed, and it fell at once, and the ruin of that house was great.

for it is not the hearers of a law who are righteous before God, but the doers of a law will be accounted righteous;
