But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do; for they think that they shall be heard for the multitude of their words.
And fear not those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
And he answering said "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself."
And Paul looking earnestly upon the council, said: Brethren! I have ordered my life in all good conscience before God to this day.
On this ground do I also myself strive to have always a conscience void of offence toward God and toward men.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, wellpleasing to God, which is your spiritual worship;
and the mean things of the world, and the things which are despised, did God choose, the things which are not, to bring to nought things that are; that no flesh might glory before God.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, since ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Therefore, having this ministry through the mercy we received, we are not fainthearted; but have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every mans conscience in the sight of God.
Having then these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all pollution of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
For the grace of God, that bringeth salvation to all men, was manifested, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in the present world; looking for the blessed hope, and appearing of the glory of the great God and of our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Let us then, leaving the first principles of the doctrine of Christ, press on to perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
how much more shall the blood of Christ, who by his everlasting spirit offered himself without spot to God, purify your conscience from dead works, for the worship of the living God!
Having therefore, brethren, boldness for entrance into the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus, a new and living way, which he consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, his flesh, and having a great priest over the house of God,read more.
let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having had our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience; and having had our bodies washed with pure water,
Furthermore, we were chastened by the fathers of our flesh, and we gave them reverence; shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live?
Wherefore receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly fear.
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments; and his commandments are not burdensome,
who shall not fear, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy; for all nations shall come and worship before thee, because thy judgments are made manifest.
