You shall rise up before the gray headed, and honor the face of the old man, and fear your God: I am the LORD.
Likewise, you younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble.
The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the aged arose, and stood up.
The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head.
You shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God.
Hearken unto your father that begat you, and despise not your mother when she is old.

For God commanded, saying, Honor your father and mother: and, He that curses father or mother, let him die the death.
For Moses said, Honor your father and your mother; and, Whoever curses father or mother, let him die the death:
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honor your father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.
Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and you are very old; therefore I was afraid, and dared not show you my opinion. I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.
And king Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, and said, How do you advise that I may answer this people? And they spoke unto him, saying, If you will be a servant unto this people this day, and will serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants forever. But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and who stood before him:

And they spoke unto him, saying, If you are kind to this people, and please them, and speak good words to them, they will be your servants forever. But he forsook the counsel which the old men gave him, and took counsel with the young men that were brought up with him, that stood before him.
With us are both the gray headed and very aged men, much older than your father.
Now also when I am old and gray headed, O God, forsake me not; until I have showed your strength unto this generation, and your power to every one that is to come.
For inquire, I pray you, of the former age, and prepare yourself to the findings of their fathers:
I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his offspring begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lends; and his descendants are blessed.
To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his elders wisdom.
And the people shall be oppressed, everyone by another, and everyone by his neighbor: the child shall behave himself proudly against the elder, and the base against the honorable.
A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young:
But now they that are younger than I hold me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock.
I was angry with my people, I have profaned my inheritance, and given them into your hand: you did show them no mercy; upon the aged have you very heavily laid your yoke.
Princes were hung up by their hands: the faces of elders were not honored.

And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.
And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.
And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spoke unto him, and took some of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.
But if any man hate his neighbor, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and wounds him mortally that he dies, and flees into one of these cities: Then the elders of his city shall send and bring him from there, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.
Then shall the father of the young woman, and her mother, take and bring forth the evidence of the young woman's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate: And the young woman's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man as a wife, and he hates her; And, lo, he has charged her with shameful conduct, saying, I found not your daughter a virgin; and yet these are the evidence of my daughter's virginity. And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him;
And if the man desires not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuses to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother.
