Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Who having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provides her food in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.

He becomes poor who has a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent makes rich. He that gathers in summer is a wise son: but he that sleeps in harvest is a son that causes shame.
The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be put to forced labor.
He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.
Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

You ought therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received my own with interest. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him who has ten talents. For unto everyone that has shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that has not shall be taken away even that which he has. And cast the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are idle, encourage the faint-hearted, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother that walks disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received from us.
And at the same time they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but gossips also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.
And let our own also learn to maintain good works for urgent needs, that they not be unfruitful.
That you be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
