'Armor' in the Bible

There should be an opening at its top in the center of it. Around the opening, there should be a woven collar with an opening like that of body armor so that it does not tear.

There was an opening in the center of the robe like that of body armor with a collar around the opening so that it would not tear.

Now the day came that Jonathan, the son of Saul, said to the young man who was carrying his armor, “Come and let us cross over to the Philistines’ garrison that is on the other side.” But he did not tell his father.

Then Jonathan said to the young man who was carrying his armor, “Come and let us cross over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; perhaps the Lord will work for us, for the Lord is not restrained to save by many or by few.”

and wore a bronze helmet and bronze scale armor that weighed 125 pounds.

There was bronze armor on his shins, and a bronze sword was slung between his shoulders.

Then Saul had his own military clothes put on David. He put a bronze helmet on David’s head and had him put on armor.

David strapped Saul's sword over his garments and tried to walk, but he was not used to the armor. David told Saul, "I can't walk in these because I'm not used to them," and then took them off.

And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armor in his tent.

Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was on him and gave it to David, with his armor, including his sword and his bow and his belt.

They cut off Saul’s head, stripped off his armor, and sent messengers throughout the land of the Philistines to spread the good news in the temples of their idols and among the people.

Then they put his armor in the temple of the Ashtoreths and hung his body on the wall of Beth-shan.

Who can strip off his outer covering?Who can penetrate his double layer of armor?

There is no flaw in his body's armor; it is firmly fixed on him and unbreachable.

With his feathers he will cover you, under his wings you will find safety. His truth is your shield and armor.

"Band together, you nations, but be shattered! Listen, all you distant countries! Strap on your armor, but be shattered.

For all the armor of the armed man in the tumult, and the garments rolled in blood, shall be for burning, for fuel of fire.

And he took away the covering of Judah; and thou didst look in that day to the armor in the house of the forest.

This is what the LORD says to his anointed, Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped to subdue nations before him, as I strip kings of their armor, to open doors before him and gates that cannot keep closed:

He wears his desire for justice like body armor, and his desire to deliver is like a helmet on his head. He puts on the garments of vengeance and wears zeal like a robe.

Harness the horses;mount the steeds;take your positions with helmets on!Polish the lances;put on armor!

Don’t let the archer string his bow;don’t let him put on his armor.Don’t spare her young men;completely destroy her entire army!

Sharpen the arrows, take up the shields [and cover yourselves]!The Lord has stirred up the spirit of the kings of the Medes,Because His purpose concerning Babylon is to destroy it;For that is the vengeance of the Lord, vengeance [on Babylon] for [plundering and destroying] His temple.

She lusted after the Assyrians -- governors and officials, warriors in full armor, horsemen riding on horses, all of them desirable young men.

and I will turn thee about, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great company with buckler and shield, all of them handling swords;

But when one stronger than he attacks and overpowers him, he takes from him all his weapons he trusted in, and divides up his plunder.

The night is nearly over, and the daylight is near, so let us discard the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil.

This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand.

Stand, therefore,with truth like a belt around your waist,righteousness like armor on your chest,

But since we belong to the day, we must be serious and put the armor of faith and love on our chests, and put on a helmet of the hope of salvation.
