'Evil' in the Bible
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness;No evil dwells with You.
If I have rewarded evil to my friend,Or have plundered him who without cause was my adversary,
O let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous;For the righteous God tries the hearts and minds.
He does not slander with his tongue,Nor does evil to his neighbor,Nor takes up a reproach against his friend;
Though they intended evil against YouAnd devised a plot,They will not succeed.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I fear no evil, for You are with me;Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Do not drag me away with the wickedAnd with those who work iniquity,Who speak peace with their neighbors,While evil is in their hearts.
Requite them according to their work and according to the evil of their practices;Requite them according to the deeds of their hands;Repay them their recompense.
Keep your tongue from evilAnd your lips from speaking deceit.
Depart from evil and do good;Seek peace and pursue it.
Evil shall slay the wicked,And those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
Let those be ashamed and dishonored who seek my life;Let those be turned back and humiliated who devise evil against me.
They repay me evil for good,To the bereavement of my soul.
He plans wickedness upon his bed;He sets himself on a path that is not good;He does not despise evil.
They will not be ashamed in the time of evil,And in the days of famine they will have abundance.
Depart from evil and do good,So you will abide forever.
And those who repay evil for good,They oppose me, because I follow what is good.
My enemies speak evil against me,“When will he die, and his name perish?”
“You let your mouth loose in evilAnd your tongue frames deceit.
Against You, You only, I have sinnedAnd done what is evil in Your sight,So that You are justified when You speakAnd blameless when You judge.

You love evil more than good,Falsehood more than speaking what is right. Selah.
“Behold, the man who would not make God his refuge,But trusted in the abundance of his richesAnd was strong in his evil desire.”
He will recompense the evil to my foes;Destroy them in Your faithfulness.
Let death come deceitfully upon them;Let them go down alive to Sheol,For evil is in their dwelling, in their midst.
All day long they distort my words;All their thoughts are against me for evil.
They hold fast to themselves an evil purpose;They talk of laying snares secretly;They say, “Who can see them?”
Make us glad according to the days You have afflicted us,And the years we have seen evil.
No evil will befall you,Nor will any plague come near your tent.
He has brought back their wickedness upon themAnd will destroy them in their evil;The Lord our God will destroy them.
Hate evil, you who love the Lord,Who preserves the souls of His godly ones;He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
O Lord our God, You answered them;You were a forgiving God to them,And yet an avenger of their evil deeds.
A perverse heart shall depart from me;I will know no evil.
Thus they have repaid me evil for goodAnd hatred for my love.
Let this be the reward of my accusers from the Lord,And of those who speak evil against my soul.
He will not fear evil tidings;His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
I have restrained my feet from every evil way,That I may keep Your word.
The Lord will protect you from all evil;He will keep your soul.

Who gives salvation to kings,Who rescues David His servant from the evil sword.
