'Fear' in the Bible

Put them in fear, O Lord;Let the nations know that they are but men. Selah.

In whose eyes a reprobate is despised,But who honors those who fear the Lord;He swears to his own hurt and does not change;

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.

You who fear the Lord, praise Him;All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him,And stand in awe of Him, all you descendants of Israel.

From You comes my praise in the great assembly;I shall pay my vows before those who fear Him.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I fear no evil, for You are with me;Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him,And He will make them know His covenant.

A Psalm of David.The Lord is my light and my salvation;Whom shall I fear?The Lord is the defense of my life;Whom shall I dread?

Though a host encamp against me,My heart will not fear;Though war arise against me,In spite of this I shall be confident.

How great is Your goodness,Which You have stored up for those who fear You,Which You have wrought for those who take refuge in You,Before the sons of men!

Let all the earth fear the Lord;Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,On those who hope for His lovingkindness,

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him,And rescues them.

O fear the Lord, you His saints;For to those who fear Him there is no want.

Why should I fear in days of adversity,When the iniquity of my foes surrounds me,

Fear and trembling come upon me,And horror has overwhelmed me.

You have given a banner to those who fear You,That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

Let me dwell in Your tent forever;Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Selah.

To shoot from concealment at the blameless;Suddenly they shoot at him, and do not fear.

Then all men will fear,And they will declare the work of God,And will consider what He has done.

Come and hear, all who fear God,And I will tell of what He has done for my soul.

God blesses us,That all the ends of the earth may fear Him.

Let them fear You while the sun endures,And as long as the moon, throughout all generations.

He led them safely, so that they did not fear;But the sea engulfed their enemies.

Who understands the power of Your angerAnd Your fury, according to the fear that is due You?

So the nations will fear the name of the LordAnd all the kings of the earth Your glory.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth,So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him.

Just as a father has compassion on his children,So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

But the lovingkindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him,And His righteousness to children’s children,

He has given food to those who fear Him;He will remember His covenant forever.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;A good understanding have all those who do His commandments;His praise endures forever.

He will not fear evil tidings;His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.

His heart is upheld, he will not fear,Until he looks with satisfaction on his adversaries.

You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord;He is their help and their shield.

He will bless those who fear the Lord,The small together with the great.

Oh let those who fear the Lord say,“His lovingkindness is everlasting.”

The Lord is for me; I will not fear;What can man do to me?

I am a companion of all those who fear You,And of those who keep Your precepts.

May those who fear You see me and be glad,Because I wait for Your word.

May those who fear You turn to me,Even those who know Your testimonies.

My flesh trembles for fear of You,And I am afraid of Your judgments.

He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;He will also hear their cry and will save them.

The Lord favors those who fear Him,Those who wait for His lovingkindness.
