But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

The demons began to entreat Him, saying, “If You are going to cast us out, send us into the herd of swine.”

While He was saying these things to them, a synagogue official came and bowed down before Him, and said, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live.”

for she was saying to herself, “If I only touch His garment, I will get well.”

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”

Then He touched their eyes, saying, “It shall be done to you according to your faith.”

And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them: “See that no one knows about this!”

And a man was there whose hand was withered. And they questioned Jesus, asking, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”—so that they might accuse Him.

And He spoke many things to them in parables, saying, “Behold, the sower went out to sow;

Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field.

He presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field;

This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:“I will open My mouth in parables;I will utter things hidden since the foundation of the world.”

Then He left the crowds and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.”

When it was evening, the disciples came to Him and said, “This place is desolate and the hour is already late; so send the crowds away, that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves.”

When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear.

But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”

Then some Pharisees and scribes *came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said,

But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, “Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us.”

But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”

They began to discuss this among themselves, saying, “He said that because we did not bring any bread.”

Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”

Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You.”

As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.”

And His disciples asked Him, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”

When they came to the crowd, a man came up to Jesus, falling on his knees before Him and saying,

He *said, “Yes.” And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth collect customs or poll-tax, from their sons or from strangers?”

When Peter said, “From strangers,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are exempt.

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

So the slave fell to the ground and prostrated himself before him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you everything.’

But that slave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred denarii; and he seized him and began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay back what you owe.’

So his fellow slave fell to the ground and began to plead with him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you.’

saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the scorching heat of the day.’

And two blind men sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

The crowd sternly told them to be quiet, but they cried out all the more, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied there and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to Me.

The crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were shouting,“Hosanna to the Son of David;Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord;Hosanna in the highest!”

When He had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, “Who is this?”

But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that He had done, and the children who were shouting in the temple, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they became indignant

and said to Him, “Do You hear what these children are saying?” And Jesus *said to them, “Yes; have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies You have prepared praise for Yourself’?”

Seeing this, the disciples were amazed and asked, “How did the fig tree wither all at once?”

The baptism of John was from what source, from heaven or from men?” And they began reasoning among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say to us, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’

But afterward he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying,

Again he sent out other slaves saying, ‘Tell those who have been invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fattened livestock are all butchered and everything is ready; come to the wedding feast.”’

And they *sent their disciples to Him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are truthful and teach the way of God in truth, and defer to no one; for You are not partial to any.

asking, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies having no children, his brother as next of kin shall marry his wife, and raise up children for his brother.’

But regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God:

“What do you think about the Christ, whose son is He?” They *said to Him, “The son of David.”

As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

But the prudent answered, ‘No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.’

Later the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open up for us.’

The one who had received the five talents came up and brought five more talents, saying, ‘Master, you entrusted five talents to me. See, I have gained five more talents.’

Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?

Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’

Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’

But they were saying, “Not during the festival, otherwise a riot might occur among the people.”

Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?”

And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you;

And He left them again, and went away and prayed a third time, saying the same thing once more.
