'Amid' in the Bible
Then the sons of Israel went to buy grain amid those [other people] who went [as well], for there was famine in the land of Canaan.
“Amid disquieting thoughts from the visions of the night,When deep sleep falls on men,
“Then I would still have consolation,And I would jump for joy amid unsparing pain,That I have not denied or hidden the words of the Holy One.
They come in as through a wide breach: amid the confusion they roll themselves onward.
The Lord also thundered in the heavens,And the Most High uttered His voice,Hailstones and coals of fire.
And thou art holy, thou that dwellest amid the praises of Israel.
God ascends among shouts of joy,the Lord, among the sound of trumpets.

(He) Those who once feasted on delicacies are now starving to death in the streets. Those who grew up wearing expensive clothes are now dying amid garbage.
so that you [Judah] will bear your humiliation and disgrace, and be [thoroughly] ashamed for all [the wickedness] that you have done to console and comfort them.
Neither doth one press upon another; they march every one in his path; and fall amid weapons, but are not wounded.
“So I will kindle a fire on the wall of RabbahAnd it will consume her citadelsAmid war cries on the day of battle,And a storm on the day of tempest.
“So I will send fire upon MoabAnd it will consume the citadels of Kerioth;And Moab will die amid tumult,With war cries and the sound of a trumpet.
'Who [are] you O great mountain? {Before} Zerubbabel [you will become] level ground, and he will bring out the top stone amid the shouts of "Grace, grace to it!" '"
