'Cursed' in the Bible

The Lord God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, cursed are you above all the wild beasts and all the living creatures of the field! On your belly you will crawl and dust you will eat all the days of your life.

He named him Noah, saying, "This one will bring us comfort from our labor and from the painful toil of our hands because of the ground that the Lord has cursed."

So he said, "Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves he will be to his brothers."

May peoples serve you and nations bow down to you. You will be lord over your brothers, and the sons of your mother will bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed, and those who bless you be blessed."

You will be cursed in the city and cursed in the field.

Your children will be cursed, as well as the produce of your soil, the calves of your herds, and the lambs of your flocks.

You will be cursed when you come in and cursed when you go out.

I will see to it that all the Judean remnant that was determined to go and live in the land of Egypt will be destroyed. Here in the land of Egypt they will fall in battle or perish from starvation. People of every class will die in war or from starvation. They will become an object of horror and ridicule, an example of those who have been cursed and that people use in pronouncing a curse.

Peter remembered and said to him, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered."

For all who rely on doing the works of the law are under a curse, because it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not keep on doing everything written in the book of the law."

But if it produces thorns and thistles, it is useless and about to be cursed; its fate is to be burned.
