'Deserving' in the Bible
otherwise the avenger of blood might pursue the manslayer in the heat of his anger, and overtake him, because the way is long, and take his life, though he was not deserving of death, since he had not hated him previously.
“If anyone is found guilty of an offense deserving the death penalty and is executed, and you hang his body on a tree,

No, nor has Herod, for he sent Him back to us; and behold, nothing deserving death has been done by Him.
