'End' in the Bible

“Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘Let your hands be strong, you who are listening in these days to these words from the mouth of the prophets, those who spoke in the day that the foundation of the house of the Lord of hosts was laid, to the end that the temple might be built.

And a mongrel race will live in Ashdod,And I will put an end to the pride and arrogance of the Philistines.

Yahweh will pass through the sea of distressand strike the waves of the sea;all the depths of the Nile will dry up.The pride of Assyria will be brought down,and the scepter of Egypt will come to an end.

And in one month I put an end to the three keepers of the flock; for my soul was tired of them, and their souls were disgusted with me.

And it will come about that in all the land, says the Lord, two parts of it will be cut off and come to an end; but the third will be still living there.
