'Forever' in the Bible

He has ordained a lot for them;His hand allotted their portion with a measuring line.They will possess it forever;they will dwell in it from generation to generation.

The grass withers, the flowers fade,but the word of our God remains forever.”

You said, ‘I will be the mistress forever.’You did not take these things to heartor think about their outcome.

Then all your people will be righteous;they will possess the land forever;they are the branch I planted,the work of My hands,so that I may be glorified.

Lord, do not be terribly angryor remember our iniquity forever.Please look—all of us are Your people!

Then be glad and rejoice foreverin what I am creating;for I will create Jerusalem to be a joyand its people to be a delight.

Will He bear a grudge forever?Will He be endlessly infuriated?”This is what you have said,but you have done the evil thingsyou are capable of.

I will allow you to live in this place, the land I gave to your ancestors long ago and forever.

kings and princes will enter through the gates of this city. They will sit on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses with their officials, the men of Judah, and the residents of Jerusalem. This city will be inhabited forever.

He announced, ‘Turn, each of you, from your evil way of life and from your evil deeds. Live in the land the Lord gave to you and your ancestors long ago and forever.

I am going to send for all the families of the north’—this is the Lord’s declaration—‘and send for My servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and I will bring them against this land, against its residents, and against all these surrounding nations, and I will completely destroy them and make them a desolation, a derision, and ruins forever.

When the 70 years are completed, I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation’—this is the Lord’s declaration—‘the land of the Chaldeans, for their guilt, and I will make it a ruin forever.

If this fixed order departs from My presence—this is the Lord’s declaration—then also Israel’s descendants will ceaseto be a nation before Me forever.

a sound of joy and gladness, the voice of the groom and the bride, and the voice of those saying,Praise the Lord of Hosts,for the Lord is good;His faithful love endures foreveras they bring thank offerings to the temple of the Lord. For I will restore the fortunes of the land as in former times, says the Lord.

For by Myself I have sworn”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“Bozrah will become a desolation, a disgrace, a ruin, and a curse, and all her cities will become ruins forever.”

Hazor will become a jackals’ den,a desolation forever.No one will live there;no human being will even stay in it as a temporary resident.

No one will be able to retrieve a cornerstoneor a foundation stone from you,because you will become desolate forever.This is the Lord’s declaration.

You must say, ‘Lord, You have threatened to cut off this place so that no one will live in it—man or beast. Indeed, it will remain desolate forever.’

You, Lord, are enthroned forever;Your throne endures from generation to generation.

Why have You forgotten us forever,abandoned us for our entire lives?

The house of Israel and their kings will no longer defile My holy name by their religious prostitution and by the corpses of their kings at their high places.

Now let them remove their prostitution and the corpses of their kings far from Me, and I will dwell among them forever.

The Chaldeans spoke to the king (Aramaic begins here): “May the king live forever. Tell your servants the dream, and we will give the interpretation.”

and declared:May the name of Godbe praised forever and ever,for wisdom and power belong to Him.

Who is a God like You,removing iniquity and passing over rebellionfor the remnant of His inheritance?He does not hold on to His anger forever,because He delights in faithful love.

“Where are your ancestors now? And do the prophets live forever?

Though Edom says: “We have been devastated, but we will rebuild the ruins,” the Lord of Hosts says this: “They may build, but I will demolish. They will be called a wicked country and the people the Lord has cursed forever.

And do not bring us into temptation,but deliver us from the evil one.[For Yours is the kingdom and the powerand the glory forever. Amen.]

He will reign over the house of Jacob forever,and His kingdom will have no end.

just as He spoke to our ancestors,to Abraham and his descendants forever.

A slave does not remain in the household forever, but a son does remain forever.

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.

They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served something created instead of the Creator, who is praised forever. Amen.

also said in another passage, You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.

Jesus has entered there on our behalf as a forerunner, because He has become a high priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.

without father, mother, or genealogy,having neither beginning of days nor end of life,but resembling the Son of God—remains a priest forever.

For it has been testified:You are a priest foreverin the order of Melchizedek.

but He became a priest with an oath made by the One who said to Him:The Lord has sworn,and He will not change His mind,You are a priest forever.

But because He remains forever, He holds His priesthood permanently.

For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak, but the promise of the oath, which came after the law, appoints a Son, who has been perfected forever.

But this man, after offering one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.

For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are sanctified.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

equip you with all that is good to do His will, working in us what is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ. Glory belongs to Him forever and ever. Amen.

but the word of the Lord endures forever.And this is the word that was preached as the gospel to you.

If anyone speaks, it should be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, it should be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To Him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

The seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven saying:The kingdom of the world has become the kingdomof our Lord and of His Messiah,and He will reign forever and ever!
