Disaster will be inescapable, as if a man ran from a lion only to meet a bear, then escaped into a house, leaned his hand against the wall, and was bitten by a poisonous snake. Don't you realize the Lord's day of judgment will bring darkness, not light -- gloomy blackness, not bright light?

turn this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.

For you know quite well that the day of the Lord will come in the same way as a thief in the night.

not to be easily shaken from your composure or disturbed by any kind of spirit or message or letter allegedly from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord is already here.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief; when it comes, the heavens will disappear with a horrific noise, and the celestial bodies will melt away in a blaze, and the earth and every deed done on it will be laid bare.

He will also strengthen you to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
