'Wicked' in the Bible
Now the men of Sodom were wicked exceedingly and sinners against the Lord.
Abraham came near and said, “Will You indeed sweep away the righteous with the wicked?
Far be it from You to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth deal justly?”
Then Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, “I have sinned this time; the Lord is the righteous one, and I and my people are the wicked ones.
“You shall not bear a false report; do not join your hand with a wicked man to be a malicious witness.
and he spoke to the congregation, saying, “Depart now from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing that belongs to them, or you will be swept away in all their sin.”
Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and will never again do such a wicked thing among you.
“If there is a dispute between men and they go to court, and the judges decide their case, and they justify the righteous and condemn the wicked,
then it shall be if the wicked man deserves to be beaten, the judge shall then make him lie down and be beaten in his presence with the number of stripes according to his guilt.
“He keeps the feet of His godly ones,But the wicked ones are silenced in darkness;For not by might shall a man prevail.
As the proverb of the ancients says, ‘Out of the wicked comes forth wickedness’; but my hand shall not be against you.
Then all the wicked and worthless men among those who went with David said, “Because they did not go with us, we will not give them any of the spoil that we have recovered, except to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away and depart.”
“Your hands were not bound, nor your feet put in fetters;As one falls before the wicked, you have fallen.”And all the people wept again over him.
How much more, when wicked men have killed a righteous man in his own house on his bed, shall I not now require his blood from your hand and destroy you from the earth?”
I will also appoint a place for My people Israel and will plant them, that they may live in their own place and not be disturbed again, nor will the wicked afflict them any more as formerly,
then hear in heaven and act and judge Your servants, condemning the wicked by bringing his way on his own head and justifying the righteous by giving him according to his righteousness.
The sons of Judah were Er, Onan and Shelah; these three were born to him by Bath-shua the Canaanitess. And Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the Lord, so He put him to death.
I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, so that they may dwell in their own place and not be moved again; and the wicked will not waste them anymore as formerly,
then hear from heaven and act and judge Your servants, punishing the wicked by bringing his way on his own head and justifying the righteous by giving him according to his righteousness.
and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

That the triumphing of the wicked is short,And the joy of the godless momentary?
“This is the wicked man’s portion from God,Even the heritage decreed to him by God.”

“Behold, their prosperity is not in their hand;The counsel of the wicked is far from me.
“How often is the lamp of the wicked put out,Or does their calamity fall on them?Does God apportion destruction in His anger?

“Yet He filled their houses with good things;But the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
“They harvest their fodder in the fieldAnd glean the vineyard of the wicked.
“May my enemy be as the wickedAnd my opponent as the unjust.
“This is the portion of a wicked man from God,And the inheritance which tyrants receive from the Almighty.
“I broke the jaws of the wickedAnd snatched the prey from his teeth.
Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity,And walks with wicked men?
Who says to a king, ‘Worthless one,’To nobles, ‘Wicked ones’;
‘Job ought to be tried to the limit,Because he answers like wicked men.
“He does not keep the wicked alive,But gives justice to the afflicted.
“But you were full of judgment on the wicked;Judgment and justice take hold of you.
That it might take hold of the ends of the earth,And the wicked be shaken out of it?
“From the wicked their light is withheld,And the uplifted arm is broken.
“Look on everyone who is proud, and humble him,And tread down the wicked where they stand.
How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,Nor stand in the path of sinners,Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
The wicked are not so,But they are like chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,But the way of the wicked will perish.
Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God!For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek;You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.
O let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous;For the righteous God tries the hearts and minds.
You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked;You have blotted out their name forever and ever.
The Lord has made Himself known;He has executed judgment.In the work of his own hands the wicked is snared. Higgaion Selah.
The wicked will return to Sheol,Even all the nations who forget God.
In pride the wicked hotly pursue the afflicted;Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.
For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire,And the greedy man curses and spurns the Lord.
The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him.All his thoughts are, “There is no God.”
Why has the wicked spurned God?He has said to himself, “You will not require it.”
Break the arm of the wicked and the evildoer,Seek out his wickedness until You find none.
For, behold, the wicked bend the bow,They make ready their arrow upon the stringTo shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.
The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked,And the one who loves violence His soul hates.
Upon the wicked He will rain snares;Fire and brimstone and burning wind will be the portion of their cup.
The wicked strut about on every sideWhen vileness is exalted among the sons of men.
From the wicked who despoil me,My deadly enemies who surround me.
Arise, O Lord, confront him, bring him low;Deliver my soul from the wicked with Your sword,
I hate the assembly of evildoers,And I will not sit with the wicked.
In whose hands is a wicked scheme,And whose right hand is full of bribes.
Do not drag me away with the wickedAnd with those who work iniquity,Who speak peace with their neighbors,While evil is in their hearts.
Let me not be put to shame, O Lord, for I call upon You;Let the wicked be put to shame, let them be silent in Sheol.
Many are the sorrows of the wicked,But he who trusts in the Lord, lovingkindness shall surround him.
Evil shall slay the wicked,And those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
Let not the foot of pride come upon me,And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him;Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.
Yet a little while and the wicked man will be no more;And you will look carefully for his place and he will not be there.
The wicked plots against the righteousAnd gnashes at him with his teeth.
The wicked have drawn the sword and bent their bowTo cast down the afflicted and the needy,To slay those who are upright in conduct.
Better is the little of the righteousThan the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked will be broken,But the Lord sustains the righteous.
But the wicked will perish;And the enemies of the Lord will be like the glory of the pastures,They vanish—like smoke they vanish away.
The wicked borrows and does not pay back,But the righteous is gracious and gives.
For the Lord loves justiceAnd does not forsake His godly ones;They are preserved forever,But the descendants of the wicked will be cut off.
The wicked spies upon the righteousAnd seeks to kill him.
Wait for the Lord and keep His way,And He will exalt you to inherit the land;When the wicked are cut off, you will see it.
I have seen a wicked, violent manSpreading himself like a luxuriant tree in its native soil.
But transgressors will be altogether destroyed;The posterity of the wicked will be cut off.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;He delivers them from the wicked and saves them,Because they take refuge in Him.
