The donkey replied: Am I not the same donkey on which you have ridden all your life? Have I ever treated you like this before? No, he answered. Then Jehovah let Balaam see the angel standing there with his sword. Balaam threw himself face down on the ground. The angel demanded: Why have you beaten your donkey three times like this? I have come to bar your way, because you should not be making this journey. But your donkey saw me and turned aside three times. If it had not, I would have killed you and spared the donkey.

We cannot find the Almighty. He is exalted in power but will not do violence to justice and abundant righteousness.


The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus. You handed him over to Pilate. When he was determined to let him go you denied him. You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and requested a murderer to be released to you.

Now, our God, the great, the strong, the God who is to be respected, who keeps faith and mercy, do not let his trouble seem small to you. Jehovah is righteous within her. He will do no wrong. He brings justice to the dawn of the morning. He does not fail! Yet the unjust know no shame.

Jehovah will surely comfort Zion. He will look with compassion on all her ruins. He will make her deserts like Eden and her wastelands like the garden of Jehovah. Joy and gladness will be found in her along with thanksgiving and the sound of singing.

The sons of those who oppress you will bow in front of you. All who loathe you will bow at your feet. They will call you the city of Jehovah, Zion, the city of the Holy One of Israel.

Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For I am coming, and I will dwell in the midst of you, said Jehovah.

I have put my words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of my hand (protection of my power, Holy Spirit). I set the heavens in place and laid the foundations of the earth. Yet I say to Zion: 'You are my people!'

Jehovah's ransomed will return. They will enter Zion with singing! Everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

Awake, awake, O Zion, put on your strength. Put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city. The uncircumcised and defiled will not enter you again. Shake off your dust! Rise up and sit enthroned, O Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains on your neck, O captive Daughter of Zion.

They will see it with their own eyes when Jehovah returns to Zion.

There will be those who escape in Mount Zion. It will be holy, and the house of Jacob will take (confiscate) their possessions. The house of Jacob will be a fire! The house of Joseph will be a flame! The house of Esau will be for stubble and they will burn among them, and devour them. There will be no survivors of the house of Esau: for Jehovah has spoken! And they of the South will possess the mount of Esau! They of the lowland, the Philistines, will possess the field of Ephraim and the field of Samaria! Benjamin will possess Gilead. read more.
The captives of this host of the children of Israel among the Canaanites, will possess Zarephath. The captives of Jerusalem in Sepharad will possess the cities of the South. Saviors will come up on Mount Zion to judge the mountain of Esau; and the kingdom will be Jehovah's.

Shout for joy, O daughter of Zion! Shout (and sing) in triumph, O Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!

Jerusalem will be told in that day: Do not be afraid, O Zion! Do not loose courage.

The angel said: Call out, say, this is what Jehovah of Hosts has said: 'I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with intense ardor.

Pronounce again, Jehovah of hosts: 'My cities will again overflow with prosperity. Jehovah will comfort Zion and yet choose Jerusalem.'

Escape Zion! You who dwell with the daughter of Babylon should escape.

Jehovah of Hosts said: I am zealous for Zion with great ardor, and I am very zealous for her with great rage. Jehovah of Hosts said: I have returned to Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem will be called the city of truth and the mountain of Jehovah of Hosts, the holy mountain.
