Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped and the whole world may be held accountable to God.
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so death spread to all men, because all men sinned.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.
It is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinnersof whom I am the foremost.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weakened through the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin: he condemned sin in the flesh,

And "if it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the godless man and the sinner?"
and if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; and if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly thereafter;
Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he said to himself, "If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, for she is a sinner."
We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if any one is a worshiper of God and does his will, he listens to him.
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor sexual perverts, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
But by the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction and exclusion from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power,
