God is a Spirit. They who worship him must worship him with spirit and truth.

The earth was without form and empty. Darkness covered the deep water. The Spirit of God hovered over the waters.

The Spirit of God has made me. The Breath of the Almighty gives me life.

John, to the seven congregations in Asia: May you have grace and peace from him who is, and who was, and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne;

To the angel of the congregation in Sardis write: He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars says these things: 'I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, and you are [really] dead.

Lightnings and thunders and voices came from the throne. There were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne. These are the seven Spirits of God.

Jehovah's angel reached out and touched the meat and the bread with the end of the stick he was holding. Fire came out of the rock and burned up the meat and the bread. Then the angel disappeared. With that Gideon realized that it was Jehovah's angel he saw. He said in terror: Sovereign Lord Jehovah! I have seen your angel face-to-face!

While the flames were going up from the altar, Manoah and his wife saw Jehovah's angel go up toward heaven in the flames. They did not see the angel again. Manoah knew then that the man was Jehovah's angel. He and his wife fell on their faces to the ground.

The angel answered: These are the four winds of heaven, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

The Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit. The Pharisees believe both.

The day came when heavenly beings appeared before Jehovah (YHWH). Satan was there among them.

I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. They are demonic spirits, working signs, which go to the kings of the earth, of the whole world. They gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Those who were troubled with unclean spirits were healed.

In that hour he cured many diseases, plagues and evil spirits. Sight was restored to the blind.

He cried out with a strong voice: Babylon the Great has fallen, she has fallen! She has become the habitation of demons, and a haunt for every unclean spirit. She is a prison for every unclean and hateful bird.

Jehovah's Spirit left Saul, and a distressing spirit sent by Jehovah tormented him.

God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem. The men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech:

The next day Jehovah let a distressing spirit take control of Saul. He began acting like a crazy man inside his house. David came to play the harp for Saul as usual. This time Saul had a spear in his hand.

One night, David was in Saul's home, playing the harp for him. Saul sat there with a spear in his hand. The distressing spirit from Jehovah took control of him.

Jehovah asked: Who will deceive Ahab so that he will go and be killed at Ramoth? Some of the angels said one thing, and others said something else, until a spirit stepped forward, approached Jehovah, and said: I will deceive him. How will you deceive him? Jehovah asked. The spirit replied: I will make all of Ahab's prophets tell lies. Jehovah said: Go and deceive him. You will succeed.

Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion walks about, seeking whom he may devour (consume). Stand firm in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are accomplished in your brothers in the world.

Did you notice my servant Job? Jehovah asked. There is no one on earth as faithful and good as he is. He respects me and is careful not to do anything evil. Satan replied: Would Job respect you if he got nothing out of it? You have always protected him and his family and everything he owns. You bless everything he does. You have given him enough cattle to fill the whole country.read more.
Now suppose you take away everything he has. He will curse you to your face! All right, Jehovah said to Satan, everything he has is in your power, but you must not hurt Job! So Satan left.

Jehovah asked Satan: Have you thought about my servant Job? No one in the world is like him! He is a man of integrity! He is decent and he respects God. He stays away from evil. And he still holds on to his principles. You are trying to provoke me into ruining him for no reason. Satan answered Jehovah: Skin for skin! Certainly, a man will give everything he has for his life. But stretch out your hand, and strike his flesh and bones and he will curse you to your face!read more.
Jehovah told Satan: He is in your power, but you must spare his life!

God's Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. There he was tested (tempted) by the Devil.

Satan tempted Jesus. This lasted forty days. The angels took care of Jesus.

He spent forty days in the wilderness being tempted by the devil. He did not eat anything during those days so when it was over he was hungry.

Be subject to God! Resist [Satan] the Devil and he will flee from you. Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded (uncertain) (doubter) (skeptic).

One of the people answered him: Teacher I brought my son who is unable to talk because of a spirit. The spirit seizes him and slams him down. He foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth. I asked your disciples to cast it out but they could not do it.

A spirit controls him and suddenly he cries out. He foams at the mouth. It throws him into convulsions and he is badly bruised.

When he arrived at the other side of the lake in the country of the Gadarenes two men possessed by demons came to him from out of the tombs. They were extremely violent, so no man could pass by that way.

When he arrived on the shore, a demon-possessed man met him. He wore no clothes and did not live in a house but in the tombs. He had been this way a long time.

A woman of Canaan came crying and saying: Have pity on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is greatly troubled with an unclean spirit.

A woman whose little daughter had an evil spirit heard about Jesus. She went to him and bowed down.

Suddenly in the synagogue there was a man with an unclean spirit. He screamed:

A man in the synagogue had a spirit of an unclean demon. He cried out with a loud voice:

That evening, they brought many people possessed with demons to him. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all that were sick.

Jesus healed many who were sick with various diseases. He cast out many demons. Knowing them he would not permit the demons to speak.

When the sun was setting they brought many who were sick of different diseases to him. He laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.

But if I cast out demons by God's Spirit, then the kingdom of God has come to you.

If I use the finger (power) (Spirit) (Exodus 31:18) (2 Corinthians 3:3) of God to cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you?

Jesus ordered the unclean spirit to leave the boy. It left him and the boy was made well immediately.

When Jesus saw the people he ordered the unclean spirit to come out of him. He commanded the spirit that caused the loss of voice and hearing to leave and never return to him. The spirit cried out and shook the child violently. It came out and the child became like a dead person. Most of them said: He is dead.

When he came near the demon slammed him down and through him in to a convulsion. Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy and gave him back to his father.

Crowds came from the cities near Jerusalem. They brought sick people and people with unclean spirits and everyone of them was healed.

Unclean spirits, crying with loud voices, came out of many who were possessed by them. Many who were taken with palsies and the lame were healed.

Do not sacrifice your children in the fires on your altars. Do not let your people practice divination or look for omens or use spells or charms. Do not allow them to consult the spirits of the dead.

Do not turn to psychics or mediums to get help. That will make you unclean. I am Jehovah your God.

If any of you go for advice to people who consult the spirits of the dead, I will turn against you and will no longer consider you one of my people.

Saul disguised himself. He put on different clothes. After dark he went with two of his men to see the woman. Consult the spirits for me and tell me what is going to happen, he said to her: Call up the spirit of the man I name. The woman answered: You know what King Saul has done? He forced the fortunetellers and mediums to leave Israel. Are you trying to trap me and get me killed?

He made his own son pass through fire. He burned him as an offering to Molech. He practiced reading the future; gave positions to those who had control of spirits and to wonder-workers. He did much evil in the eyes of Jehovah and provoked him to anger.

He burned his son as a sacrifice in the valley of Ben Hinnom, he consulted fortunetellers, and he cast evil spells. He also practiced witchcraft, and appointed royal mediums and psychics. He did many things that made Jehovah furious.

People will say to you: Ask for help from the mediums and the fortunetellers, who whisper and mutter. Should people ask their God for help instead? Why should they ask the dead to help the living?

The Egyptians will become discouraged. I will bring their plans to nothing. They will consult the idols and the spirits of the dead, the mediums and the spiritists.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit. Test the spirits to see whether they are from God. This is because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

To another the workings of miracles and to another prophesy. To another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.

Here is how you know the Spirit of God, every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ came in the flesh is from God. Every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist that you heard was coming and now it is already in the world. You are of God, my little children. You have overcome them because he that is in you is greater than he that is in the world.read more.
They are from the world. They speak that which is from the world and the world listens to them. We are from God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the vital principle (spirit) of truth, and the principle (spirit) of deception (error).

You are made full (complete) (perfect) (mature) in him. He is the head over all government and authority.
