Jehovah God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. The man became a living being.
The Spirit of God has made me. The Breath of the Almighty gives me life.
You lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. They have brought the vessels of his house before you and your lords, wives and concubines. They drank wine from them. You praise the gods of silver and gold, of copper, iron, wood, and stone, which you do not see, nor hear, nor know. You have not glorified the God whose hand holds your breath and life.
In him we live, and move, and have our existence. Your own poets have said: For we are also his offspring.
You do not know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a vapor (puff of air) that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. You should say, If God wills, we should both live, and do this or that.
Jehovah, please make me to know my end. What is the extent of my days? Let me know how temporary (frail) (destitute) I am.
Come now, you that say, Today or tomorrow we will go to this city, and spend a year there, and trade, and make profit. You do not know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a vapor (puff of air) that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.
Then God said: Let us make man in our image, in our likeness. For what does it profit a man if he gain the whole world, and lose or forfeit his own self?
I command you today to Love Jehovah your God, follow his directions, and obey his commandments, laws, and rules. Then you will live, your population will increase, and Jehovah your God will bless you in the land that you are about to enter and possess.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of Jehovah forever.
Lord Jehovah, I put my hope in you. I have trusted in you since I was young. I have relied on you all my life. You have protected me since the day I was born. I will always praise you.
O Jehovah, I know that humans are not able to govern their own lives. Humans cannot administer their own steps.
He told you, O lowly man, what is good and what Jehovah requires of you. You should display justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with your God!
Whoever finds his life will lose it. Whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
The days of our lives are seventy or eighty years if we are in good health. But the best of them bring trouble and misery. Indeed, they are soon gone, and we fly away.
We know that if our earthly house (human body) (habitation of life) is destroyed; we have a building from God. It is an everlasting house in the heavens, not made with human hands.

But when they came to Haran, they settled there. Terah lived two hundred and five years. He died in Haran.
Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land Jehovah your God gives you.
Honor your father and your mother, as Jehovah your God commands you and your days will be prolonged and things will go well with you, in the land Jehovah gives you.
You must serve Jehovah your God! I will bless your food and water. I will take away all sickness from among you. No woman in your land will miscarry or be unable to have children. I will let you live a normal life span.
If you obey me and keep my laws and commands, as your father David did, I will give you a long life.
My precepts will give you a long, peaceful, and prosperous life.
Whoever would love life and see good days should keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
Which of you wants a full life? Who would like to live long enough to enjoy good things? Keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from deceit.
I hate my life. I do not want to go on living. Oh, leave me alone for these few remaining days.
